Just installed Dinan exhaust... Not loud
I have RR catless dp. I bought a dinan free flow. Installed it today. It sounds awesome and all. It's just not aggressively louder than stock. It drones less than the stock muffler. Unless there is a break in period I don't know about this exhaust isn't loud. Anyone else have input on there dinan experience?

Wrong choice for loud. Had it on mine and loved it and all, was just better sounding and a little deeper. Nothin special if you are wanting to have all the attention in the world on you though.

Agreed. Had a Dinan loaner w/ FFE a while back, was also surprised by the sound level but very much liked the tone of the exhaust note, especially at WOT which is where I wanted it to be. Around town the low level growl was very pleasing w/o being annoying. I even contemplated a purchase but w/o any hp gains I looked elsewhere to spend my cash. As others stated, if you are trying to wake up the neighborhood you made the wrong decision. I for one, love the way it is subtle during normal driving but wakes up just enough under load.

Traditionally Dinan exhaust are not the loudest options available. They usually have a mature sound with a focus on performance but maintaining drivability.

Can't go wrong with the BMW PE. It'll definitely let you know it's there. And I think one of the vendors on here is having a sell right now.

You bought the wrong mufflers if you want a loud exhaust. I love the slightly more aggressive sound but this is a very subjective thing. The great thing is there's no drone at hwy cruising. There's no break in period. The sound you have now is the sound you'll have next month.

Sounds like the OP should have gotten the BMW Performance Exhaust + Cattless DPs if loud to wake up the neighborhoold is what you were looking for
I am kinda suprised though with your the Dinan FFE + Cattless DPs that you considred it "slightly" louder than stock. I am runing highflow catted DPs and it is "MUCH" louder. It maybe due to tuning, temps and air Anyhow here are couple of exhaust clip with stock DPs and highflow catted DPs |

I had mine installed a few weeks ago. Maybe it's just me but after about 400 miles the note has become deeper and noticeably louder
After i initially had it installed I thought it may have been too subtle. Now the last few days of driving I'm glad I went with the Dinan as any louder than its become I felt would have been too much. Love it now and looks great from the rear. |

I am extremely happy with my Dinan FFE (bought it from CUTigers, post #2). Running this exhaust with catless DP"s seems to give it a nice growl while driving around town that doesn't irritate the wife, but it really wakes up on hard accelerations. WOT makes my smile fill the windshield!

Nope, the brand doesn't matter. The space for fitting dps is restrictive so all dps are going to sound the same because they have the same shape and very similar metals.

if i do catless down pipes such as VSRF would that make my Check engine light come on? besides the dinan muffler everything else seems stock on the bottom. All cats and resonators are still attached. What is the best way to run this without check engine light comming on and keeping my dinan muffler?
