E90 330D LCI 245bhp DTUK Install

Hi guys,

I have purchased a 2nd hand DTUK tuning box and DTUK wont have anything to do with it now (I tried asking them before I purchased it). The warranty is also void once its sold on from another party.

Firstly, the instruction manual is only for the pre-LCI BMW so the engine layout is different. I can source the common rail sensor but not the boost pressure sensor. Has anyone here managed to source this and fit it themselves?

My engine layout is as follows:

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Anyone? BMW forgot to re-fit my engine cover/under tray so when they send a technician out to re-fit, perhaps I could ask them. I wonder how keen they would be to help.

Have you researched if this can be done? IMO I would put the box up for sale and buy the correct one that was designed for your engine. It all sounds like more agro than its worth.

The DTUK unit was supposed to have been removed from the same model as mine, a 2009 330d LCI 245bhp manual gearbox. It turns out the unit is from a coupe which explains why it wont fit!

I am going to have to return it and then perhaps go for an ECU remap instead.

The actual sensor on the loom/harness is a different shape to my original sensor. I've had my mate check it over and he is convinced that it won't fit.

I managed to connect the common rail sensor (with some effort, it was a super tight fit) but we didn't have much luck with the boost pressure sensor.

What do you think?

If its for an M57 it may simply not fit the N series engines?

Given DTUK are useless, punt it on and remap the car properly.

I did ask before I bought it and I was assured it was for N57 but there's no way of knowing. I agree, DTUK are useless.

I'm inclined to agree with you, scrap this idea and go down the remap route. It would have been nice to have the adjustable maps but there's no harm in more power all the time right?

Does Realoem not tell you anything about the boost pressure sensor?

Surely Old Grey Steve can help?

I tried having a look but I've already sorted postage out to return the unit now.

Back to square one

Which end of the boost sensor did you remove to me it looks the same plug type as all the sensors? Just to the right hand side and down abit from the flexi in the middle of the picture, white clip on it?

Turned out the tuning box wasn't compatible so we would have been there all day trying and failing
