Shop Foreman or good SA at Center BMW...HELP Please!

Does anybody know who the shop foreman is at Center BMW in VN?

AARRGGHH...my mom (age 69) just had her e92 335i not start. She had been complaining of long crank times (HPFP probably) and today, when I went to move her car, the battery was deader than a door nail.

I thought //Matt was at Center so I had her designate that as her preferred dealership (she was going to choose Beverly Hills or Santa Monica) but now I have no idea who to tell her to ask for tomorrow morning.

Thanks guys! She already hated this car so I suspect it will be for sale soon...

Matt changed his career several months ago. I don't think you need to talk to the shop foreman as BMW is recognizing this as an issue...they will replace the HPFP for you. The turnaround time is a lot shorter now too.

Not by her choice unfortunately. My parents picked it up via ED last summer. My dad passed away in March so she is "stuck" with the 335i. She absolutely hates it! The jerky throttle, the ride of the RFT's and now the dead battery.

I know that all of that is manageable, but she really does not like the car. So I will sell it and get her something she likes better. What that is...well, who knows. Probably a diesel Benz or hybrid Lexus.

Tell your mom to talk to Steven Tureadot at Center. I just had to deal with him there, and he seems to be a nice guy.

The report back is that according to the car, the left turn indicator was left on thereby draining the battery. I can say that is untrue...interesting.

A BMW tech who I 100% trust told me that leaving the key in the slot overnight will kill the battery. When I got into the car I found the key in the slot. Apparently she left it there from Friday night to Sunday afternoon. At least there was nothing wrong with the car itself.

On another note, I reported to them that the car was experiencing long crank times. The HPFP was replaced. I am glad that I could prevent her from getting stranded due to a pump.

Which leads me to a question...she reported that the car is very jerky when pulling away from a stop. Is that usually a symptom of a failing HPFP?

Well...it turns out that Center did not accurately diagnose the dead battery. Yesterday morning mom went out to leave the house and once again the car is DEAD.

This time she had it towed to South Bay BMW (stubborn lady my mom...) where I have confidence that it will be fixed properly. I have a good friend there who is a top notch tech, BMW CCA member and club racer. He will take the time to track down the real issue.

Once the car got to South Bay, it started right up. However, it threw a bunch of error codes, such as DSC and a CEL. Obviously the last error that a side marker was left on was also an error. Center BMW just never bothered to ask if the side marker was actually left on (it wasn't).

I am really unhappy that Center did not do a thorough job and left my mother stranded. I knew there was a reason why I never used their service department.:thumbdow n
