Not sure if this is correct but will a BMW dealer buy a car off you, I dont mean part exchange I mean literally buy the car off you?

Well thats what I would like to know, lets say I want to sell my car, ofcourse I can sell it privately but will BMW dealers offer a price to buy it off me and then sell on? Like part exchange but no exchange just money

yes ofcourse they will buy it from you but at a knock down price.
I'm no dealership buyer but my guess would be as follows Take a used car selling for 30K at dealer. You may sell this privately for 27-28k Part ex from dealer you only get 25-26K Straight buy with no pex they may only give you 24-25K |

The main problem would be if your car is slower moving stock. i.e. something slightly out of the ordinary. |

Yep probably about 4k less than they would retail it for, not a great deal of good used stock around so try a few buyers from different groups see how you get on nothing to loose.

As stated to the left just got another 335i. There was too long a wait to get a new S5. It was something like six months. Took me 2-3 months to get the 335i as BMW had cut back on producing six cylinder engines.

He had to go with a 335. Othewise he'd have to change his username. Welcome back, Dougie. It's good to hear you're still around.

if you dont cant sell it privately (best option) then ring a few dealers for prices , sometimes the difference between what different dealers offer can be significant.

Of the 3 BMW's I've sold, only one was part exchanged - the M3.
The 335i was sold to Sytner who gave a very good price (who eventually had it for sale for just £700 more than they gave me for it) and the M6 was sold to Inchcape who still have it for sale for £1k LESS than they paid me for it (so I got a good price on that one too!) |

Sometimes you can be lucky if a dealer knows someone who is looking for the car you are selling. You'll get a better price as they know they won't be holding onto the car for 'x' months. As I say, you have to be lucky!!!
I tried a load of dealers when trying to shift the 350Z but no one was buying. A couple of dealers said that they were crying out for 350Z R'sters but 'the management' had made a blanket decision to not buy any stock - frustrating to say the least. I'd only use this option as a last resort but make a few calls as you never know...
