Really?? I did it once and no issues. Make sure your cover the alternator and positive red post from battery (this is covered by a red cap) with a plastic bag. Thats all I did. I bought one of those engine wash spray and came out great! I used a little brush too... Dont use lots of water. just mist engine.

so after about 400 miles since i cleaned out the spilled out i have no more burnt oil smell. This is a good sign! perhaps i don't have to replace any head bolts after all!
