JB4 with ISO is what I'm assuming will be doing the tuning work........plus a little meth injection for added safety. Terry @BMS mentioned ISO was created to tune larger turbos in the future and smooth out the power band, etc.

There is a lot of speculation going on with the N55 and not a lot of fact, we like to work in facts, when the car gets here we will know a lot more.

? huh, this turbo has an internal Wastegate on it. If you are referring to the BOV, we shall see, we have both types, I have put a recirc one on it for now. I am not 100% sure if the N55 uses a maf sensor at all, if it does, you have to vent before the maf or it throws the readings off. If it is pure speed density just using maf tables for fueling but not an actual maf like the N54 then it shouldn't be a problem

I assume that was their reasoning for using the electronic diverter on the stock turbo. I would hope it's not the case though, especially since the new M3 has the valvetronic as well. Can't wait to see what you come up with

If I could find a reputable shop willing to work with me on this in Los Angeles I would be all over it.

+1 for the DCT. The AT should withstand the poweroutput easily (look at the N54). And the MT is very easy to upgrade. The DCT is the most interesting imho. We have a shop here in Germany which upgrade the DCT for $1.600. It should be able to handle 700-750Nm (engine) then.
