Well going to Mosport for a one day event is kinda far IMO...Also they are using the DDT track.
Monticello is very far but at least you're going for two days. I'd love to try it though.

I don't want to tell you guys what to do, but let me emphasize that they are using the DRIVER DEVELOPMENT TRACK (DDT) on that particular day. I wouldn't mind doing this kind of event if it was not as far of a distance.

I would suggest the latest one that I added:
Mon/Tue June 14/15th - Patroon & NY Chapter - Watkins Glen

but hey, if you want to spend a few days in T.O., go ahead.

I'm still looking for a WG event to go to. As much as jgalaxy is a track nut, I don't see him chiming in with his choices yet

LOL. I'm working on a reasonable track car first. I'll do at a few C'Bogies, Trembalnt and ICAR open lapping days in my jalopy. If I can get the new car in time I'll do more.

At an HPDE, you have a dedicated instructor with you at all times when you are on the track. He rides as a passenger and is there to teach, give pointers, help you out... the level of input is decided between the instructor and the student.

At a Lapping day (ie Viperclub/bimmershop) there are some instructors, but not as many... you might be able to get one with you in the car from time to time, but it's not the usual.

Rules on the track are the same... point-by passing at approved sections... flags... respect
Viperclub/Bimmershop events are lapping days which is ideal for the intermediate and advanced drivers. Beginners are allowed, if enough instructors are available. Ratio is around 3 drivers for 1 instructor. Great for practice if you combine this with HPDEs. However, since it is lapping, no insurance if you get a mishap!

Come on you need to do Calabogie with me Viper/Bimmershop, eat wings and drink beer at our favorite country place, ha ha! What's the track car you say, spill the beans already.

I don't seem to have an event in June, nor in September. Will need to rethink this.......Also, I might not go to the May Calabogie Ottawa event. I'll provide my revised choices later.

Tony, I have a suggestion, if I may:

Combine both HPDE and Lapping event lists (HPDE in Blue, Lapping in Red/Fuschia) This way we get the whole chronological picture. I see myself checking both lists and at my age my eyes are getting cross-eyed (like a fish, one eye-looking up, the other looking down)

Well, that was a given... Watkins Glen is a great track with history... I think it will be worthwhile.

I will likely do 3 Viper/Bimmer events. CMP, LCMT and an ICAR. WIngs and things for sure.

I'm dying to go. The stars weren't aligned for me last year for WG. But I did get more CMP than I bargained for which is always a bonus. I'll try hard to make the WG event with you and anyone else that will be there from the group. Should be a hoot.
