I just got this in the mail. I am going to apply by hand. My paint is basically perfect...just looking for some nice protection.

I also have some Poor Boys carnuba to go over top. I am applying by hand. Any tips?

Pretty much, it's very easy to work with. As with most products, try to apply it to the paint when it's cool to the touch. Aside from that, there's not much to it.

Is that the Natty's Blue or red from Poor Boy? Are they any good over Blackfire?

Personally, I like the look of BFWD by itself. Adding a wax isn't going to lengthen how long it stays on or anything, it just changes the look. However, that's just my opinion, since I like the brighter and glossier look more.

+1. I just recently switched from Menzerna FMJ to the BFWD....and stopped there...no wax. Love the glossy look.

OP - If you go with the PB NB do only one section at a time then wipe with your MF towel. ie: hood, trunk, top, one door....ect. Resist the urge to cover the entire car befor removal....it can be troublesome. You may also have to spritz some refrigurated distilled water to remove any lasting "hazeing" left behind from you NB removal.

Lastly....the recommended cure time for the BF is 8-10 hours (if I remember correctly)....I suggest letting it cure for a full 24 hours before your next step....whether it be another coat of BF or your wax. FWIW I ended up applying 3 coats of BF to my black saph....with 24 hours between each coat. Also keep in mind that I used my Flex 3401, so it went much faster then doing it by hand.

Got my first coat on and it looks sweet! Man, this stuff is easier to work with than NXT wax...I wasn't expecting that. If I like the look I have, can I just put on another quick coat and let it be? Will putting my Poor Boy's on there dull the finish as some said?

I just want to make sure I have maximum protection with maximum shine.

If you like the look, wait 8-12 hours for the sealant to cure then apply another coat. You can stop there, a wax really isn't necessary with the shine BFWD gives.

So the Poor Boys is strictly for added shine? No additional protection? Maybe I'll apply that the next time.

You might get a little bonus protection for a short amount of time, but normally people add a carnuaba over a sealant to either change the look or give added shine. The wax will wear off in about a month.
