A "voice" for my 325i
Hi to everyone
sometimes I believe that BMW just forgot to put an engine in the car body. The standard exhaust is really so quiet . I thought to change it with the BMW Performance exhaust but as far as Iīve been informed itīs not made for the 325i. They only told me that it basically should fit but no one can tell me with what kind of modifications etc. I like the muffler with the twin round pipes, therefore I would like that one so I would be oriented for a Hartge exhaust system Does anyone have this one fit on his car? I would like to know if the sound is more "soundable" than the standard one. Or does someone have other suggestions? I do not want a fighter jet, but just get my car to have a voice. Thanks to everyone |

OP, you have been informed wrong. The BMW PE will fit a 325. Try looking in the NA section.

BMW performance exhaust on my 325i
I had the BMW factory performance installed on my 325i in Nov. 08. Dealer did the install with no problems. Sounds better every month, but was a nice improvement from the start. Pipes are bigger, and it weighs almost 10 pounds less than the stock unit. Biggest change, surprisingly, was that the engine throttle response became noticeably sharper. I paid $1400 for the exhaust and install. Worthwhile expenditure as it avoided a new BMW purchase until the F30 arrives.

Why did you install the BMW Performance. Are you happy with the sound now?

The muffler for my 325i arrived but it seems that they missed to send me the connection pipe from the muffler to the central pipe. The standard muffler is fitted with a long pipe to connect to the central one. The BMW Performance muffler ends with a flange. Does somebody know if there is an additional pipe to be ordered or if the problem has to be solved by some custom work? I would not like to cut the pipe of the standard muffler
Thanks in advance for your help |

I feel the same way about my 325i. It's too quiet. I'm going to cheaper route with the Rouge Ikon though. |

BMW Performance Exhaust on 325 i
Hi, I received the BMW Performance Exhaust. At the moment of assembling it I noticed that the standard Exhaust has a pipe connecting the muffler to the central pipe. On the new exhaust this pipe is missing. It ends with a flange and I assume there should be another pipe going from the exhaust to the central pipe having the same flange. The pipe of the standard pie is welded so it is not possible to dismantle it.
Could you please let me know how you assembled your exhaust? Did you need to make some extra works. I have a 325i (facelifted) which I got in April 2009. Many thanks in advance for your help Quote:

I finally got it
Finally I got the BMW Performance Exhaust on my car. It really sounds better now together with the BMW Performance air intake. As NigelFan said the throttle response seems to be sharper but in general, in acceleration the car seems to be more fluid.
The look fo the 2 bigger pipes is great as well |
