I got a specialist audio fitter to do it, 2 guys took 1 1/2 hours charged me about £120 IIRC. It's no good asking the supplying dealer to do it as they have very little experience of fitting the upgrade kit as most of them don't know it's available. Won't affect warranty unless the specialist do something they shouldn't have.

I have ordered a new car which has HiFi loudspeaker Business system, is there an easy upgrade path for this?, I felt that paying over £800 for the Logic 7 was just too much.

There isn't really an easy and worthwhile one from the HiFi Business but it should be fine. 2 Sets of mid range and tweeters and 2 subs with a total power output of 4 x 25w with 2 x 40w to the subs is a lot better than 4 x 15w total which is the standard head-unit output.
It should be on a par or better than the Alpine upgrade and that's plenty good enough for me (I have the Alpine system). Having said that, if I could go back in time and change the spec on my car it would have been Logic 7 all the way... |

Hifi will sound pretty good though if you are just after a half decent sound |

I think the standard system (with front tweeters) sounds fine but you know the feeling when you are enjoying a good tune and feel like blasting the volume a bit? Nothing happened in the standard system but the Alpine upgrade allows that extra blast - not huge, but enough to fill the need. I would have saved myself a couple of hundred quid if I had specified the HiFi in the first place. |
