Talking Underseat Woofer Choices

I plan to upgrade my underseat woofer on my e90 (basic audio). Are there any good other 8" woofer choices other than the Earthquake SWS8X, with regards to being able to fit in the alloted space underseat? Something with value for money.

Thank you guys!

Replacement Underseat Woofers

There are a lot of great threads on this subject if you do a search. Whether you like the Earthquake subwoofers a lot or other speakers that are more mid woofers depends on what you call music. I have 8" Jehnerts (German speakers) in mine and am very happy with the result. I do have to say that the Jehnerts seem pretty expensive for what you are getting, when you hold it in your hand.

Have you replaced the 4" speakers in your doors and put tweeters in the sails yet? If you are looking for the most value for money, this is a better first move, in my opinion.

Oh yes I am planning to upgrade the side speakers as well.

Regarding the 8" woofer, the problem here is fitment on the space allowed. Maybe you guys have an idea on which nice 8" woofers would fit.

Thanks.

What fits to our cars though? Only options I've been finding is to upgrade to the BSW sound system and I can't justify $500+ just for door speakers.

I've a brand new Jehnert Flatline (2 x 8'' underseat woofer, 2 x 4'' side speaker, 2 x 1'' tweeter and all the necessary crossover) for ur E90

It was an extra set left as adhoc decision to change the car to a SUV. Let me know if you're interested I can let go at a very reasonable price.

Cheers

If you love mid bass, look for Jenherts.
If you like deep bass, look no further than Sws-8s.

+1

If you don't/can't get a sub and like your deep bass the SWS would be better as technically its a sub. You'll still have a mid bass hole but depending on your music/tastes this might not matter.

Or if you think there might be a chance to get a sub in the future get a mid bass woofer, like the Jehnerts. At the moment I have a sub base hole but hopefully that will be sorted out in a few months

What other choices do I have? I like the kicker ssmb8's but its discontinued and I cant find them anywhere.

Anyone know where to get the mid bass jehnerts 8"'s in USA? Online. Ordering from UK will be too expensive bec of shipping and will add to the cost.

Thanks.

When i was in Germany the guy at Jehnert said they get loads of orders from the US. It might be worth giving them a ring.

Check out the Audio-Systems 8s too, now renamed under the Gladen Audio name. Solid bass performance, deep and can get quite loud too.

Sws-8xi available

I'm selling mine....brand new (used for 1 month) still in box....with the spacers and connectors
Shipping included
If you like your bass low and tight....this is what works.
My wife can't stand it....so it's gotta go.

Go with Jehnert XE200. Very accurate deep filling speakers. I wish I never sold mine after I sold the car. They are less "boom" and more full and accurate. Their dealer is in jersey, don at unexpected creations in Edison.
