Mine is a 01/07 build and Turbos, WG and HPFP were replaced prior to my ownership, ~6 mos now.

What was build date?

Mine is 10/06 so at I am past the 8 yrs, but I got mine replaced in yr 2. I ran into this issue on a number of issues with BMW, it seems like they made the cut off for this kinds of problems after 12/06. anything made before then did not seem to have the issues as they put it. If you put my VIN very few things come up under the recalls and extended warranty programs. My car is not covered in the Fuel pump issue, but they did change it out even though I was not having any issue and the replacement went out and they gave my another. This all happen in the first 4 yrs though.
