I am currently writing a DIY as I type this. I just took pictures so I just need to organize my notes and caption the pictures....should be up by the new year. Here's what the trim looks like after painting it.

Just removed my trim. It was extremely easy. Just need to take your time. If anyone is looking to do the vinyl yourself try bmwshadowline.com . Great and fast service. Also I picked up a $5 trim removal kit from harbor freight that really help with this and the interior trim removal.

Yes I did finish it but I don't recommend doing it now (after about 4 months). My trim is chipping after sanding, 3 coats of primer, 2 coats of matte black, and 3 coats of matte clear coat. I don't know if it has to do with me doing it in the winter but it is chipping really bad on the passenger side rear. Driver's side is perfect except on one section on the back that is covered by the door. I'm ordering vinyl from shadowlinetrim.com?...something like that. Wrapping my trim and the roof side rails so it matches my 3M Di-NOC CF roof!

If you still want to take a look, I have attached it.

I tried the shadowline trim from http://shadowlinetrim.com and it sucked. Spent 3.5 hours on one side and was perfect with it and wrapped it all along completely but it would get tiny tears. I later spent 30 minutes removing it all.

Will trade my chrome trim for shadowline in Austin.

Did you use heat? You shouldn't get tears if your using a heat gun. It should just stretch.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Mike from Carbon Underground did an AWESOME job on my black 335i this weekend. He was able to cover my chrome trim with black vinyl, the effect is that it is identical to the stock trim. It only took about 4 hours. If you are in the SoFla area I highly recommend him.
