+1 I am as surprised as you are to be honest but kudos to everyone who gave their comments as I thought it was an interesting read given some of the comments and views of the brand and in some cases car ownership in general.

I think I will be a fan for awhile, that is until I can afford a Ferrari. Just kidding!!! I will probably still have a BMW as the DD.

I bought my car brand new as a daily driver, hoping to keep it for a good few years. It's my first BMW and I really like it, wasn't really a car person before but now kinda bitten. Handles well, looks nice, lots of creature comforts. Biggest gripe is really the paintwork, scratches so easily.
Next car will probably be a Porsche as my summer/weekend/fun car. |

I remember going out with a this girl for the first time so we meet up and the conversation turned into a talk about cars. She started to tell me how she was proud of her new altima and how she loves it. Then she asked me what I drive... I remember putting my head down and mumbling a bmw like i was ashamed lol. |

No.
I have a favourable opinion of the brand, I like their style but BMW is messing up with some of their virtues and add annoyances in the process. Who asked for run-flats with no dedicated room for a spare, no dipstick, a complicated water pump expensive to repair or even a silly N20 to replace the base I6? Nobody. I love my car but it had its fair share of problems. At least, I got great service. I don't see another car in this class that I want more than a F3X I6, but those annoyances bug me and t I think that I would take a Cadillac ATS 3.6 before a 328i 2.0T. |

Second BMW that I've been driving since my parent's E53 and I love it. It might be your typical fanboy statement but I really do love my car and hopefully life will allow me the opportunity to pick up another BMW later down the line.

I just recently purchased my first BMW. I am a fan for life now, without a doubt. You really cannot beat the steering feel in a BMW. And to be honest, I really do enjoy driving my 328i with an automatic, in DS of course..

First post here. I've had the 328i for about 1.5 years now and I do like it.
I was originally going to sell it for my sister (she moved overseas and did not need a car) and am buying it off of her now that I found out that I can retrofit folding rear seats. I went through: - 95' Chrysler Sebring Coupe (really a mitsubishi Eclipse with a trunk), - 99' VW Passat Sedan - 01' Mercedes S class - 08' BMW 328i All of these had their good and bad points. I can definitely say the BMW is, as they say, a driver's car. It is very much focused on driving "fun". Some may complain the ride is a little stiff but I modified all my previous cars to have tighter handling. Some of the layout still surprises me but I am slowly getting used to it. |

Not my first BMW, I had an '08 e93 335i and loved it. Wasn't practical at the time and got rid of it. Missed it so much I had to get back into an n54 powered car. After this it might be my last one though. I do not like where the brand is heading but I will revel in the "last ho rah" if you will. Might try something new afterwards, maybe an AMG Merc.

I like the car and all but I would definitely like to try another brand on my next car. Depending on the reliability during the next few years, I might have to go back to Japanese cars. Maybe if they can bring the sexy back to the Acura TL or do something awesome with the new Infiniti G coupe (whatever its called these days)?
Won't ever touch American cars though. They're all hideous.

I will always own at least one. Hooked for life. The first one I drove was a 1989 735il that my grandfather bought new-I had my learners permit and he encouraged me to "floorboard it" a few times.
When I bought my 2002 in 2003, I became a crazed fan. To drive a car that comfortably fits 4, has a huge trunk, great visibility AND can be driven at 9/10ths, providing feel and feedback galore....The E90 is more substantial and refined, but it does have the essential DNA of the 2002. When you get on a twisty road, away from people or police, the car comes alive like few others. Of course a dedicated sports car will likely have more performance and feel, but the balance of performance, practicality, comfort and refinement is without peer in the automotive world.

I'd never say never because BMW does build great cars but having owned them in one form or another since the late '90's I think this may be my last. Old age must be clouding my judgement because I really feel like my E46 and E39's of old felt so much more solid and well-engineered than my e90. The short stint I spent in an F30 recently was not all that impressive.
I'm just not satisfied with this trend of constant de-contenting coupled with over priced options while slotting lower and lower end models to pump up their sales numbers. The day I pay almost $60k for a loaded 3 that isn't an M....... They have no choice but to keep rolling out models to replace the price points of these cars. X5 to X3 to X1 to X0? 3, 2, 1 to .5 series? I think the only think saving them is the fact that their most direct competition is in the same boat. I'm really thinking my play is to keep my current E90 as a DD since the trade in value after 4 years is a joke and buy something used for fun. I'd rather have an '09 911 with 10-15k miles than a new 335is any day of the week. |

For me, time will tell. If the car is total pig from a repairs standpoint, then I will not be purchasing another. For now, I am thoroughly enjoying the vehicle and would love to have another, but again, it will come clear in 1-2 years.
