Clear bra on OEM front lip

Has anyone had a clear bra applied to the OEM front lip on the E92? Did the piece have to be custom cut? I saw that Xpel has one that is part of the front bumper kit with performance package but it also has the cutouts for PDC (?) and the headlight washers.

This, I would also like to know. I believe it can be easily cut for the aero lip.

I have clear bra on the stock front. There is a standard cutout kit for it. It has cut outs for the cold weather washers but not for PDC. Looks great! In fact there are a few different kits. Some go farther into the light areas than others. Mine goes all the way in on the driving lights but not on the head lights. I saw one cutout kit that goes all the way in on both. Looks nice. I would ask your installer exactly where it will start/stop before he installs. BTW: There are also kits for under the door handles. e92 and e90 are same there.

The coverage over the OEM lip will have to be customized.

"ironic" has his lip covered. It may be difficult to see because it's clear, obviously.

Unbelievable

Man, this thread is an unbelieveable coincidence.

I literally just dropped off my car (like 30 minutes ago) at the dealer to get the tint and clearbra done and the installer came out to look at the car. I knew there was a problem when he started looking at the lower lip. The story I heard today is that Clearshield only has the standard bumper pattern for the 335i Coupe at this point.

When the new M3 comes out, they were planning to make the patterns for that front end and the OEM Aero Lip because they are somewhat similar. They took photos of the OEM lip and are sending them to Clearshield to see if they can create one or find a similar pattern that can be modified.

I am thinking it's going to have to be a custom fit job. What a pain in the ass.

Actually, this is sort of a good thing because while we were looking at the lip, it became obvious that the black sapphire paint on the lip is nowhere close to matching the rest of the bumper...it's got a green tint to it. SO they're going to have to repaint it anyway... No point in putting a clearbra over it anyway.

Might want to look for an Xpel installer. Here is their pattern for what looks like the front lip:

with performance package
with headlamp washers and PDC

Regular bumper without lip:

without headlamp washers

Nice find ifaudi!

I just check that site last week and couldn't locate anything other than the bumper only.

Damn, that is excellent. I forwarded the link to the xpel website to my contact. Hopefully they can either duplicate it or get the material from Xpel.

your dealer should be able to custom cut the parts for the lip. when I got my clear bra, I wanted more items covered then they have done previously. They told me it would cost more and take a little longer, cause they had to program the machine to cut out the other pieces.
it was not the lip but I would imagine they can do the lip to. maybe my dealer is more advanced not sure, but they do have the machine at the shop to do the cuttin.

Hello. Here is a step further covering the entire front end.

I can also cut just the aero lip if anyone needs it..

Xpel kits.
