My MPG improved as the mileage was added to the odometer. For about the first year I was getting around 30 mpg, with an occasional foray into the 30s on longer trips. From about May this year on I was getting normally in the 32-34 range. Maybe that had to do something with summer. I don't have a true trend line. Just looking back over all the fill ups.

In September 2012 I went to the track for the first time. I filled up before driving to the track, had four 15 minute sessions, and drove back. When I filled the tank after 390 miles, I got my lowest MPG ever: 26.96. I guess if I had waited to fill it would have been higher. Because the last time I went to the track in early November, I had 4 22-25 minutes sessions on a longer track, I filled up after 441 miles, and I got 30.09 mpg. All track sessions were pedal to the metal, so they don't represent a typical daily driving experience.
That's impressive! Did they changed something with '11 cars? It seems like '09 cars don't have an impressive overall fuel economy.

I have no idea. I believe that everyone's driving style and local conditions are so varied as to make it very hard to draw conclusions from individual cases. I drive primarily in suburbia near Annapolis MD. I have very little true bumper-to-bumper "city" style driving. As far as my personal habits, I am very easy on the go-pedal most of the time and take the long view ahead so I can coast rather than brake a lot, but whenever I get an opportunity I can't resist the urge to feel that torque and the handling on curves. There is sufficient opportunity around here to goose it and not endanger anybody but myself. But hey, I'm a senior citizen so it doesn't take much to satisfy me.

My last tank was 32 MPG and it included a lot very high speed highway time along with "around the suburbs" driving.

I am amazed by this car every day.

I think a better question would be regarding the RPM at which the engine is turning most of the time, especially on the freeway where it should be more constant than city driving.

Before the CBU I used to keep the RPM rather low (1650) and get great fuel economy 30-32 with lots of city driving.
Now I keep it at 2000-2200 on the freeway and have the tranny in DS during city driving.
My MPG went down a lot, but there is also the winter temperature outside to blame, which is normal.
