We had it on the car for fitment before it gets painted. There are a few issues that need to be addressed, then it is off for paint.

Thats my car, the hood and trunklid are on for fitting and I agree 100% that the carbon fiber is effecting the body lines as it stands. My plans are to paint alot of the hood and trunklid Red while leaving the top center portions(along the body lines) exposed carbon fiber as well as painting the roof either very dark gray or black or even possibly retrofitting the M3 carbon fiber roof. I am building the car for the magazines as well as maximum performance as I have done for past vehicles. I will post pics of the paintwork once everything is completed.

Haha I know how you feel. I had 3 S13s. Each one was better than the last....my last being a Sapphire Blue (extremely rare color for a coupe around here) with the Silvia Nose conversion (standard halogen headlights, not the projectors everyone got their front ends with), Advan wheels etc.....It was on the course to fit a 4G63 out of a Mitsubishi Evolution 3 under the hood (mated to a T-5 transmission) and go the different route, compared to everyone dropping an SR20 in or a RB series out of the Skyline. I had nearly 9k into the paint, body and suspension alone. Car handled very nicely and had it on the track a few times last year.

I got hated on a lot for that idea....and the group of people were such cheap F's themselves I got tired of it and associating with them. I prefer the Porsche crew or Bimmer meets....I tend to meet more mature people in those groups.

And holy cow, that pic of my car is insane....new desktop.

Test drove the new Mini S last night. OMG that car was a boatload of fun. Way better than the previous generation.

Only problem though is the incredible amount of torque steer. I havent had to wrestle with a steering wheel that much since my dads 87 Mazda MX6 GT. I couldnt imagine the car with anymore power, it would be undriveable.

You need to come down to helix and try it with 30+ more whp, we tuned an Attache DMEtuner for it and its awesome.

If my friend was looking at getting the new one, should she go for the cooper works edition or could she get more bang for her buck with Helix?

Do you know if it had the LSD option? I have that, and it keeps the torque steer in check.

See what Eric says, but this car is still relatively new to market. JCW is not yet available on the R56. Vishnu is working on something too.

The CA said the JCW is orderable now with a 3 month wait. Id rather deal with Helix in terms of Mini stuff. Im also on the fence with how to proceed with my 335 in terms of future mods(no pun intended).

Well, obviously im a bit biased, but here are some facts.

Got this from www.motoringfile.com

"The John Cooper Works Tuning Kit boosts the output of the twin scroll turbocharged engine from 172 to 189 horsepower. Maximum torque is also boosted from 177 foot-pounds between 1,000 and 5,000 rpm to 185 foot-pounds between 1,750 and 5,000 rpm. With MINI’s overboost function, peak torque for the kit reaches a temporary level of 200 foot-pounds between 1,750 to 4,500 rpm."

The kit will be $2100.00 plus 2 hours for installation. Your right about them being available now.

Like Mark said, we have been able to get 30whp with just an ecu tune. While we haven't priced out our new tune, it will most certainly be much less then $2100.00. So you get more power for less money.

Some people prefer to deal with the factory directly and if your friend is like them, then perhaps the JCW would be the right path. However, if your friend likes to go the aftermarket route, I think our ecu will be the best choice on the market.

I have full faith in you guys and my friend even asked if I would bring her to you guys to get work done. That being said, my main thought is if the JCW adds on suspension work as well or if its ONLY a tune. The carbon fiber accents and stupid roof spoiler and take a back seat for all I care.
