BBC is considering dropping F1 Coverage.

OH FML!!!!!!

I'd say the best F1 coverage in English currently is BBC. They did a fantastic job in putting a pre-race show, technical coverage by Martin Brundle, no commercial in-race coverage, and post race red button forum. They showed the world how Formula 1 should be broadcast to the world.

But the damn government post a freeze on BBC licence fee, forcing them to think ways to cut cost. Including dropping the Formula 1 Coverage.

Now Channel 4 (whatever that is) is showing interest, however, like ITV, they are commercial based station and thus, commercial break in the middle of lap 15 when Kobayashi is about to make the overtake.

I will kick every UK citizen in the nuts if they drop F1 broadcasting...BBC broadcasts > all. I purposely postpone watching F1 coverage live to download the original BBC broadcast in it's entirety because it is that good.

I really don't understand why this is an issue. I'm sure everyone on this board would willingly pay a yearly fee for legit access to the BBC iplayer.

Why that hasn't been done yet, in 2011, when there is obvious market share is beyond me.

You should really worry if Murdoch buys it. They'll implement yellows just to run commercials.
