US MSRP is 47,100.
So if you do math... it will be around $55,000 - $60,000 range.

Looks like BMW Canada is closing in on the pricing gap. Very nice.

4 years ago, a $47k USD car would cost about $65k CAD. Fucking ridiculous back then.

Safety regs? Really? Its quite often a delete on M cars and Porsche etc. as car is not as stiff with sunroof.

The gap between the two prices are more or less eliminated after you factor in duty, riv fees, etc.

Well its just that the whole engineering process was rushed so that's why they were saying they couldn't equip it with a CF roof, etc. so I'm assuming that's also why the sunroof can't be equipped either... I wonder if you can get an OEM E82 sunroof custom installed?

If you can buy 1M, buy CPO M3 or used M3 instead.
1M will be the worst M model ever released.

says you. On the contrary I think it will be a return to its roots. It will make the M3 seem bloated IMO.

I think "bloated" is a bit much. Its goofy looking too. It does subscribe to the " big motor, small car " theory of automotive fun but not like the M3.

When I first heard the news of a M1... I was eagerly waiting spy shots.

When I saw it was a 1 series with wider rear wheel wells, basically a 335i engine and quad exhausts... it was quite disappointing.

I wanted to see a truely reborn M1... NOT a 1 series on steroids.

You can custom tune 135i to have better performance than 1M..
But M3, you can't do that with 335i. Also, M3 is the last V8 since the next one is going to be V6.
1M will be probably good for BMW sales because of the entry price, but for performance-wise it's the worst IMHO.

Just to be clear, are you implying that a 335 cant be tuned to have better performance than an M3? Thats already been done and it takes about a couple of hours of shop time and 1000-2000 of mods.

I will wager that the 1M will be tuned in such a manner where it can outhandle AND outspeed the M3 whether at the strip or through twisties.

And about the FI/NA debate - you sound like an old man clinging to all 8 cylinders and repeating the typical banter on the forums, when its clear that FI is the way of the future (was embraced by MB and Audi along time ago, finally BMW cought up).

If nothing evolved, we may as well be drag racing horse carts with stone wheels..... but hey, Im sure the E9X M3 might be a collector car (sarcasm).

Just do the math.
1M - 135i = ?
M3 - 335i = ?
There's your answer
