Edit: My mistake, the whole exhaust cleaning system is the SCR (not sure what that stands for). Yes, the fluid additive is the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) and the filter is the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter), so it is easy to confuse DEF with DPF.

PNP = plug 'n' play
OTF = on the fly
RPM = rotations per minute (sadly enough I'm sure there are a few out there who don't know)
F/RSM = front/rear strut mount
F/RCA(B) = front/rear control arms (bushings)
VANOS = (abbr. In German Variable Nokenwellensteuerung) is the variable valve timing technology developed by BMW

E85/50/30 - ethanol content %

SCR is Selective Catalytic Reduction

Could add a section for engine numbers:
N51: PZEV 3L engine
N52: 3L engine
N54: 3L turbocharged engine (no Valvetronic, DI, dual turbo)
N55: 3L turbocharged engine (twin-scroll turbo, Valvetronic, DI)
M47: 2L 4 cyl turbocharged diesel
M57D30T2: 3L 6 cyl turbocharged diesel engine (D30T2 is 335d/x5d varient)
