I've found Openeo.co.uk to be really cheap and quick delivery. Got a set of 19s for my C63 from them. Were cheaper than everyone else. Ordered on the Sunday and came on the Wednesday .

I've always found that contacting my local wheel specialist was the cheapest and I always get free fitting and balancing thrown in.

I'd contact one near you to see what sort of deal can be arranged.

I used event tyres recently... really good price and service - would recommend and use again.

Tend to find prices vary depending on stock levels and time of yr... def worth ringing round a few.

For our discovery - the dealership was the cheapest place - and yes.... was hard to believe!!

Prices are so random and change all the time.

Don't even discount special offers at Kwik fit.

Failing that, have a friend who has a trade account

Camskill or Oponeo have been the best for me recently. No substitute for shopping around for the specific tyres you want as it all depends on who has stock they want to shift.

Ok - another question - ive been offered a set of Falken 452's or the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric TWO's for an extra £100 - are the Falken 452's a load of crap and not worth scrimping on and are the Goodyears any better??

I know some folks rave on about how good falken 452s are but I have them on my Golf and think they are rubbish - just my opinion.

That's a can of worms opened Steve,do you really expect to get any kind of consensus with such questions?

Firstly I've run Falkens for quite a few yrs now,and they do me OK,secondly I'm not convinced the Goodyears are worth the extra notes.

You can guarantee the following though:

Many will voice displeasure and disgust with my first point, and the tyre snobs will vehemently protest at my second, because of the name Goodyear.

Hey ho

Here is a decent review on the 452's it pretty much backs up what hotcoupe says about the them.

I haven't tried them nor the asymetrics however my friend raves about the goodyears on his TTS.

Have Falken 452 fitted to my Wifes Golf 2.0 GTTDI, they were excellent throughout the winter, also wet/ dry handling, no complaints, cant comment on how they handle on RWD. Shoped around found best price was with Blackcircle.

Ive just been offered the Conti 5P's for a really good price - i think I'm going to go with them now to be honest - sorry to be a pain!!! Thanks for all the advice though!
I ran the 452's on the 20" AMG's and to be honest they were ok but when pushing hard did seem to be a little vague and grip levels were not the best when cornering heavy. But then the Merc probably wasn't the best example as it wasn't a high performance car. The Conti 5P's were always impressive when i ran them on my Focus RS so i think I'm happy with the choice. Thanks again chaps. And also thanks to Paul (M3Fast) for the PM and tyre contact. Steve

No worries Steve, what you have been offered is prob the best all round option and without all the messing around, is prob the option I would choose also.

At least you have Steve's number now, it's worth keeping in case a similar situation arises or you do a track day and kill the tyres!

Thanks again Paul.

One quick thing - the guy I'm sourcing tyres through keeps calling them Conti 5's as opposed to 5P's - please tell me there is not a 5 and then a 5P?? Can anyone confirm if this is the same tyre??

Mmmm, just found out that there is a couple "5" options - so i now need to chase the guy down and confirm he is getting me the Conti 5P's and not just the "5's" - always a bloody hassle and I'm a bit annoyed he didn't clarify as he must of known there was a difference - cheeky fecker!!!
