Official Denver and surrounding area chat thread.
I figured that I would just make a thread that we can all chat on. Ask anything, say anything, do anything. De-rail this thread all you guys want. What's on your mind? Need to vent? Do it here.
Anyways, I will throw this out there to see if anyone would be interested. Being that everyone in here has probably accessed their engine belly pan once or twice, has some of you in here lost a couple of your belly pan screws? You know, the hundreds of 8mm screws that they use to attach the belly pan cover. I have a lot from doing chevy recalls and will give them away for free. They are similar to the BMW screws. Who wants some? |

Does Colorado Springs count as "surrounding areas"? . We're basically south Denver.
Totally off topic, but I had my first HPFP replaced on Monday . 2010 335 - 35k miles. Bone stock. On an even more upsetting note, I had a 335D as my loaner, which I was starting to think about for my next car, and I hated it. Really bummed because on paper I thought I'd love it. It had terrible tip-in (I expected a diesel to be a rocket off the line, but either they have dulled the throttle response too much, or our altitude makes it way worse than normal). I could probably get used to that though, but the sound was what killed it for me - it made me really appreciate my 335, and that is while it is still bone stock (can't wait for a DCI and PE). Having said all that, I still lean towards an X5D for my wife's next car. -Rich |

The X3 are decent, though you may want to drive before with your wife, because they are known to have stiff suspensions that some don't like. If she doesn't mind your M3 though, then the X3 will be no issue.
Probably 100-120 a month |

I'd be amazed if the insurance is more than $100/mo if you have a clean record. I pay about $600 a year ($50/mo) for maxed out coverage on my 2010 335i. Good luck! Rich |

Did the Alpine Mountain Region PCA auto cross today at PPIR. The weather was awesome and there were only about 25 drivers there. There was a 1M and an E46 M3 and then tons of Boxsters, Caymans, 911s, 914s, 944s, even a Panamera Turbo.
I used to autoX a fair amount, but haven't done it in years - this was the first time with my 335. I did pretty good - out of my group (12 of us) I put down the 2nd fastest time beating several Boxsters and Caymans. The car that beat me, beat me pretty good though (by ~2s). It was a late model Boxster S on Pilot Super Sports (I was on my stock run flats) - I knew I was in trouble when he pulled out driving gloves I was also surprisingly consistent - out of six runs, they were all within a couple seconds (even with three runs with a 2s penalty each for hitting a cone). Great fun - I think the 335 impressed a lot of drivers there (it certainly wasn't my driving!). I didn't get to see what the 1M was doing, but he also was on Super Sports and running camber plates - I'm pretty sure he laid down some fast times. -Rich Last edited by richpike; 08-04-2012 at 10:06 PM.. |

My weekends are hijacked from now until after Labor day. Then I get like two of nothing (except NFL!!!!!!) and then going to Vegas at end of the month. Crazy busy, it came out of nowhere but rather be busy then not.
Congrats on the baby V! Stephen....the X3 is great, I had one for a month when my turbos were being replaced, it just need more power. I think the new xdrive35i is the way to go if you can get into one. Great vehicle though, I loved how it felt like a car still.
