GT5......finally!

I won't know what to play in my house, seeing as I'm addicted to black ops at the moment!

I would love to know if anyone is going to pay £150 (now £130) for the signature version of the game. I would never pay that much!

Hope it plays WAY better than the last demo that quietly faded away. That was truely dire. Like drving with run-flats on marbles - with a joypad.

Same for me too.

It's pricey but definitely worth it and it's fully compatible with GT5.
You can balance throttle, brake, etc, much more with pedals, rather than just the button on the controller and the same for steering.

Exactly the same here;
I thought I'd treat myself about three years ago, given dedicated Bluray players were circa £600 and GT5 was just round the corner, a PS3 was a no-brainer.

Fast forward 3 years or so I have the sum total of 1, yes ONE Bluray disc and am so annoyed with the general awkwardness of use of the PS3 (does anyone else have a guaranteed software update every time it's switched on that, by the time it has finished, means your enthusiasm for playing has waned?) added to the total awesomeness and reliability of the xBox has resulted in one dusty and unused PS3 in the Sheps household.

Exactly the same here. Think I've got 3 bluray discs. I'm got only about 6-8 PS3 games which never get used. Use of the PS3 as a bluray player is very awkward, I always have trouble with it, just remembering where to find what I'm looking for is a a bind. Stick with Sky Movies HD these days...

Which is why one should have one of each console, after all they're cheap enough now

Slightly random question but is it worth getting a Blu Ray player (not a games console)? We have an "HD TV" but nothing in HD as we only have Freeview. We watch very little TV and the odd film from lovefilm so can rent Blu Rays. Wife isn't at all convinced but it seems a shame to "waste" an HD TV.

A bluray player will 'upscale' your standard DVDs so improving things for your existing collection. The picture quality from bluray is certainly worthwhile in my opinion; especially if renting. They are still noticeably more expensive to buy the discs over standard DVD which always put me off buying them (unless it's a proper 'spectacular' movie).

I haven't really played with the upscaling side of things so not sure quite how effective it is but it's supposed to be a good improvement (probably up to 720p as opposed to full-beans 1080p).

Blu Ray players are without a doubt good, it's worth the money if you want to watch films in HD....if you dont care then it's obv not worth it!

I use a http://www.fanatec.de/html/index.php?id=250 lot of money for a toy only advantage is with the dongle there wireless (apart from power lead) and compatible with Xbox 360 as well.
I find that my times in racing games are hardly any different to using the controller just make it a bit more realistic

Dont forget that Freeview HD will be available FTA over the next few months, (depending on your postcode), but you will need a Freeview HD box or built in your TV to receive the free channels, (BBC HD, ITV HD, etc).

Here in Leicester, Freeview HD will be available in Aug 2011
