A brief encounter.....
...is how I would describe my time with my new M3. So brief in fact, that it's coming to an end on Friday
Yep, in a brand new Palmnuts record, I am moving onto my FIFTH car in the last 12 months (remember, this time last year I had my white C63 AMG). However, this time it's not really a matter of choice but more necessity as the latest M3 is my favourite car I've had so far....there's a reason that I returned to it after all the other cars I've had and thats because, for me, it was ultimately the best. Lets just say a 'change in circumstances' and a current requirement for 4-doors has brought a premature end to my time with the M3....just 8 weeks after I took delivery of it. I'm not exactly thrilled by the decision and I have in this case moved to slightly cheaper car but I will sorely miss the M3 with it's incredible gearbox, tight handling, screamingly good engine...the list could go on, but this is a rare case of the car itself not being the reason I'm selling it. Indeed, the only other car I've ever got rid of that wasn't because I didn't like something about the car was my first M3 (and in that case, it was because I'd had it for a year and fancied a change...when have you known me to keep a car a year??). Anyway, move on I must and so to the new car. It's fast....very fast (the fastest car I've had except the Porsche I reckon). It has what is regarded as a very good chassis. It's a 4-door. It's around £40k. It's very different to anything I've had before, particularly image-wise. That final clue should be a biggie so let the guessing begin. The first person to get it right gets a beer from me at the Cotswold meet...and if you're not coming, then what more incentive do you need? Will and Roger....you're banned from this as you already know! |

Mr Palmnuts. I know nothing about you but reading between the lines are we talking about the pitter patter of little Palmnuts? If so, hang fire and see how you go on with the M3. Don't do anything rash. I did once and regretted it. It's a kneejerk thing.
If I'm well wide of the mark and you already have Palmnuts Jnr(s) then please disregard this post. :edit: And is it a Quattroporte? |

...something probably more 'capable' as a day to day car and regarded as a good all-rounder and class leader for now (for now....now that IS a big clue!), but not quite, from my POV, as likeable/responsive/cool. It's far classier though....apparently. Maserati QP....after my last Italian car??? LOL no way. I also said FAST...my M3 would show one of those a clean bunch of pipes |

I'm struggling to think of a £40k 4-door that's noticeably faster than an M3...

Well everyone knows that when the patter of little tiny feet are heard the most sensible car is a two-seater convertible .

You've had everything
I'm stumped because as soon as you up the power in saloons like bentleys or rs6, its HEAVY so can't see you enjoying that. Only thing is an M5 but that's too obvious and wrong price range. |
