Oh, I hate 5.00am starts.
Gibbo, she is a 07MY. The most I have had recorded on the OBC is 38.7mpg. It only has 2500 miles on it so it get maginally better as the miles pile on. I sit on the motorway in cruise at about 80 mph usually. So, considering my previous E91 320d managed about 47mpg on a similar journey, 10mpg is a worthwhile price to pay for driving the best diesel car on the road today

Whilst we are being completely childish ............. If a sunroof is the criteria for 'batting for the other team' why hasn't Carlos got one? This banter is like being in the playground at school (I do struggle to remember back that far though!)

202 miles today from Lewes to Gailey (A26, M23,M25,M40,M42,M6Toll,M6) at an average 66 mph in heavy traffic thus a significant amount of braking. MPG was 38.7 which at 2000 miles (engine still tight) is very good IMHO. Long live the 335d. I also dump a couple of 5ers on the way

Oh hello Jason, back safe and sound then.

That's impressive MPG, I'm going to have to try and achieve the same somehow. Hotcoupe still did better on more or less the same mileage covered by his engine. Think he was in flowing traffic though, which is where diesels score over petrol I believe.

Yes I agree my car has done 33mpg over the last couple of weeks on trips to work down A & B roads. I was not even driving hard.

Thanks for your concern, traffic was far from free flowing. I was very happy with the results and I love the car even more - so effortless

Some pretty good figures there... I'd like to see some comparison figures from the 335i brigade.

As others coming from the 320d have said they can be frightening economical compared to the six cylinders.

For what it's worth my old E46 320d averaged 45mpg over 19000miles in the last two years that I had it. By comparsion the 330d has averaged 37mpg over it's first 2500miles.

'Tis a nice feeling when you're happy with your car I must say. I find the coupe more comfortable than the E90 on motorway runs, and like you say it is so effortless
