Mobridge
Anybody got one of these ?, I have Jan/06 Build with no Ipod/USB option so Ive been looking at the Different avenues and it looks like this Kit is one of the best. Tad on the expensive side at $550us, But Im tired of burning MP3 CD's. |

Why not get the iPod retrofit by the dealer, about $600 AUD from memory. Allows full control through iDrive.

Mark - I have one in my 911. On my car it works through the standard PCM system just like a factory installed one and on BMW's works through iDrive plus if you don't have bluetooth you can have that as well for only a few dollars more.
FYI the mObridge units are Australian designed and built. That's why you'll see Telstra and Vodaphone AU etc on their web site images. Talk to John Bergman of Autofidelity on 0411 191 411. He's based in Melbourne but I know he travels interstate regularly and may be able to put you onto someone in Qld as well. I know Gold Coast Porsche sell them as well. doesn't your car have the aux input beneath the arm rest? my car is the same year as yours too. if you do have it, then buy an audio cord that plugs into the aux and your ipod. so its a male male plug. costs a few bucks from a computer shop. its a much cheaper option.

skyskie I have the aux port but I find it a pain to change songs I have to grab the iphone and try and hit next and its a pain to locate a song while driving and dangerous, Id prefer to have control on the Idrive interface. I know its expensive But id rather spend the money on that, than replacing my front bumper when i go into the back of someone.

the www.mobridge.com.au website takes me to the USA one. Is there another website for their Australian operation that someone can advise me??? I'm in the electronic design and support industry so I'm interested to know a bit more about them.

I never queried that but given you're in the industry suggest you tell him that and I'm sure he'd be more than happy to discuss the system with you in more detail. |
