opinion needed

i bought my car about two years ago with i the idea that i wont hit more then 12,000 miles a year.

But since its my DD ive been driving around and racking up my miles. its currently at 46,xxx miles
heres my dilemma

should i extend my warranty through bmw

go through an independant company like fidelis

anyone that went through the same dilemma as me ?

i havent had any problems with long crank or fuel pump issues ( knock on wood )

what do you guys suggest

I'm not an expert but I would go with the BMW warranty.

Just what i would do though.

I'm looking forward to a good answer also.

I would go with the BMW warranty and do it before the existing one is up, the cost of the extended goes up after the existing runs out.

Don't know if you can in the states, however based on my experience if you brought the actual car from the main dealer they can usually extend the warranty, which is good to keep you as customer blah blah, ie you can use it as leverage against buying your next car in the future etc - or if its a bad break down and you loose confidence in the car - I did actually did this - "if you fix under warranty you can keep it" and I'll buy this one....they are always ready to help in the situation! ('04 545i to '09 335d :-)

With an independent warranty you might save at the front end but in the event of a claim your options may be limited...
