I'm not too sure about the method Terry employs in the gauge hi-jacking but it usually comes back to custom scripting in his external piggy back. We are limited to using what the car has preprogrammed as far as options go.

The JB4 probably hijacks/overrides the CAN bus signals from the DME or something to trick the KOMBI into doing that. It's not a coding option.

wildcatcrazy You're the expert. What would be required to write custom code?

I've been through the entire kombi file and there is nothing in there that would enable it (and I'm from Germany so I can read everything in there without any kind of weird translations)

Is the cluster test simply giving false info the the KOMBI to make it think that each speed and each rev is happening and thus the needles move, or is it an actual KOMBI check.
I'm not sure if I'm being clear with what I mean sadly. Like, is the cluster check a result of another module sending 1mph, 2mph, 3mph, 4mph etc to the KOMBI? Or is it the KOMBI just flapping the needles around? |
