Mud Flaps Painted to Match

I was not real excited to put the black mud flaps on the Titanium Silver car, but my driveway is 1/2 mile long and can get messy at times. Had a reputable local shop paint these to match...turned out NICE!

Looks good. Maybe I should get a set, and have them painted as well.

wow, that's pretty cool. i wonder how well the plaint will hold on them. they're getting most of beating from road dirt, stones, and crap like that.

The mud flaps from BMW were $67 for all four, and then $80 to have them painted. Comes out to $147 total or $37 each...definitely worth it, and they work very well and are by far the best fitting flaps that I have ever installed on a car. BMW really does ENGINEER everything well!

Time will tell as to how long they hold up, but the shop knew how to paint them to ensure good adhesion and it looks so much better than the black on silver.

I agree - the e90 mudflaps are excellent quality and fit and I am lucky in that, having ordered a black car, I won't need to get mine painted (yes, I have already bought the flaps to sniff while I wait for the actual car to be delivered - how sad is that! )

that looks great! Definitely well-fitting, and the color matching turned very nice.

Would you need painting for black saphire?

My e90 is black saphire in color. Do you think I would need to paint the OEM flaps to match or would it look okay straight from the dealership?

hmm I wonder how long that paintjob will last. I've seen plenty of color-matched mud flaps start to crack and chip after just a few months.

Markar,

Do they attach w/o drilling any holes? I was considering these for winter months, provided they could be removed for summer.

Thx.

When you order mudflaps do they come in a pack of 4 or 2? I looked on ebay and the picture only shows 2. Are there different ones that go on to the rear opposed to the front?

JackMac,

I would not suggest installing these to remove on a yearly or seasonal basis, they have adhesive strips that help hold them to the body tight and the front ones have plastic fasteners that are not reusable or easily removed. There is no actual drilling, but some self tapping screws at a few locations inside the wheelwell.

Explorer3253,

Come in sets of 2 for front and 2 for rear. For the price of most BMW accessories, the flaps are definitely a bargain.

I paid just $19 for a pair of front flaps (don't see the need for rear ones) at my dealer. They are really good quality & really moulded to fit the car.

Paul330d,
Were they the actual BMW form fitting flaps? According to the accessories catalog they are something like $31 or $32 a set....at $19 you got an awesome deal.

Nice!

I didnt have paint them since they were already black ;-)

I know its a personal preference but I also like the look when you install the mud flaps, apart from the obvious protection it provides.
