different range cables is due that e90 factory config uses usb hub and there are cable from combox to hub, and from hub to usb socket
it works without hub with combox too, but you need longest available cable, circa 3 meters long and usb/aux socket
also if you want have full factory coding you need to route aux from headunit to combox too, but, it is possible to code only USB, without aux rerouting

I have one issue for you guys please

I have e93 2008 I retrofit CIC (CCC) before , and retrofit combox the issue after they code 6LF , aux not work
I used these parts for 6LF
84109237653 USB/AUX adapter (4pin AUX)
61119202749 USB wires to combox
and I use same AUX connector in centre console before retrofit combox and I connect it to aux / usb adapter
for now bmw app and usb work great in centre console but no aux
so please what parts number do I need to fix this issue

it's number is 61119147377 but it is non-orderable already
so, there is three ways,
take one from junkyard or make yourself using 3-wire shielded wire and contacts or code headunit option so that aux took signal from headunit connector

So I have a 2007 335i sedan. It has iDrive, sat, nav, and the aux in port. It does NOT have a 6cd changer in the trunk (it has 2 aluminum boxes but I'm not sure what they are). It does NOT have the usb port in the center console.

I've read a few forums and am still a bit confused. Here's what I "think" are the steps, but I'm hoping someone can confirm/correct me.

1) Buy the USB/AUX in socket for the center console.
2) Run the cable from the console to the head unit.
3) Code the car so USB will show up in iDrive.

What am I missing?

make photo of the modules in trunk under carpet, this can save you some money if you already have MULF2HIGH for bluetooth

I already had a usb port in my arm rest and i just installed a combox. But usb devices are not detected.. is there something I'm missing here?

USB shows up as an option on the CIC just nothing showing as plugged in. My USB drive has a led power indicator. It is never lit.

Hey mate did you ever get this sorted ? and if so what did you need to do ?
Ive got the same issue no power when the combox is in but i put the MULF2 unit in and it works fine ?
