Since the conversation has shifted a bit to other makes, this new Merc has my interest, and I never thought I would say that:

Garage List
I drove an F30 as a loaner while BMW did the battery recall on my E90. I liked the styling, and it felt bigger. But the steering was too loose and numb. I also missed hearing the sound of the engine. The auto stop-start was very rough and jarring. I wound up turning it off.

I was way too happy to get back in my car at the end of the day.

Well, I'm gonna test drive the F30 m-sport this afternoon to see if the upgraded sport suspension in sport mode can at least help me forget about the electric steering. If I can live with it, I might just pull the trigger on a F32 special order the dealership got allocated for me!

Thank god people can say their opinion on E90 vs F30 on here without being constantly attacked here and called names.

Because on front page of bimmerpost don't you dare the share your opinion if it has anything to do with being a bit disappointed with F30.

The same 4 or so forum members attack you and encircle you like Hyenas and the name calling and personal attacks are something else.

I drove an F30 for about three weeks while my car was being worked on.
Foot well is narrow.
Map pocket stick out and kills my left leg.
Fit and finish, just cheap compare to my e90.
Steering was crap even on a M-Sport model.

You can't give me an F30, at least not for my e90.

Well, I'm on the second F30 loaner and having driven this one long enough to actually form an impression, yeah it's disappointing. Pretty much agree with what has been said, steering, chassis dynamics engine noise. My friend got into it, looked around, tapped some of the plastic and proclaimed "Holy Civic, Batman". Another friends wife who views cars much like we view refrigerators drove it and thought it was the best car ever..well besides the Camry
It's not a bad car, just not what I've come to expect from BMW. I understand the corporate desire to increase sales, that's what companies do, but don't alienate your core customer base in the process. The good news for me is I tend to hang on to my cars for a long time (still have the 97 328is) and my E92 335 only has 35k miles on it. I'll just lay in a stock of HPFP's, turbos and water pumps and a couple of VANOS solenoids..... I'll be fine

Yup, that map pocket is a serious badonkadonk.

At least the HUD's cool.
