Driving story.Audi 0 BMW 1
Driving around the m25 today in the outside lane an Audi closed in on me from some large speeds. As it was a section with lots of camera's I was pottering and making steady progress past the middle lane cars maybe 5mph over an indicated 70. They were probable doing 60-65mph. He proceeded to flash me and give me hand signals of an unpleasant nature. Which was un necessary as maybe 1 second had passed. I was just about to accelerate a bit to get out of his way. However not liking this I slowed to 70 to make a point and took my time. I then checked when the next camera was and made sure I pulled over just before hand.
Angry Audi man booted his a3 and continued to offer me visual signals and sped up to probable around 100mph. He was not hanging about. Flash flash went the camera I was thus feeling quite smug if a little evil. Any of you have some motoring stories.

LOL i love when this happens.
I had this VW Jetta (full of high school kids) tail me from my house to the main road. Right before we reached the main road, i knew i could gun it and obviously it tired to keep up with no success... Once we reached the main road (i live in this area so i know where to not speed), he decided to floor his Jetta right past me in the right lane with all four kids smiling and looking at me as they zoom by, AS soon as he made it past me, i watched a cop pull out and immediately pull the Jetta over. Always makes my day. |

I had a similar experience, but in California, we don't really have cameras, we have CHP units that are pretty consistent in where they hide out. There's a new freeway extension by where I live, and there is an underpass that is perfect for them to hide out. Even on a sunny day in the summer, most of the underpass is in the shade, so they're probably cooling off there as well. Mind you, I don't race on public roads. Ever. But when a riced out Civic started tailgating me about .5 mile away from the underpass, I kept my pace. He couldn't get around me. I wasn't doing that to be a dick, as there were a few semis next to us, making it impossible for me to move over, and for him to pass on the right. My E30 had a pretty pronounced exhaust sound, so I tricked him into thinking I want to race by pressing down the clutch and revving it up a few times. Once the lane cleared, he made a break for it on the right lane, had speed up to probably around 85 or so (in a 65), going right past the CHP cruiser. He knew he was caught because he hit the brakes right after he past it. Next thing you know, blue lights, red lights.
I waved as I went past the idiot. It was a pretty good day. |

From my perspective it looks more like the suv was just bullying his way in, never made an effort to do anything but get in front of that other car. Hope that sedan caught up and taught suv a lesson. |

They are now on just about every third stantion spanning the road. The entire route is becoming variable speed limits.

For the record, if you're cruising in the passing lane and someone is tailgating you, YOU are the asshole - especially if you can see them coming fast behind you from way off.
OP, the Audi was right to flip you off, you sound like a douche-nozzle. Speed up or get out of the way. |

I have no issue with going quickly, but being rude is unacceptable. All drivers have to share the space of a road in harmony. Hassling, bullying and intimidating other road users is not on. I was overtaking other cars. I was also going all be it slightly over the permitted speed limit although probable not at a speed where I would get in trouble. The Audi driver was driving aggressively, driving 30+ mph over the speed limit, tailgating, in 10 seconds he broke probable around 10 different rules of the road. Had the police seen this he would of been in trouble. But by all means pass judgement on a situation you have not seen.

No offense to OP but I have to agree with this. If you're in the passing lane going 5 over and someone is coming up behind you at a faster speed, get out of the way. This is assuming you have space in the middle lane as well.
The guy in the Audi was still a douchebag for how he handled it, tbh I would probably do the same thing you did given his behavior. |

I did move out the way at the first opportunity. I could of moved over faster if I had put my foot down, but would then be in danger myself of being nicked by speed camera's. I was passing 5 slow moving cars in the middle lane. Empty inside lane. the guy was being very aggressive and I hope he looses his licence.

So which is it then? In your original post you stated that you didn't yield because you wanted to make a point; now you are back peddling and claiming that you got over at your first opportunity.
It's not your job to police the roadways; it is your job to be observant of what is going on around you and not impede the flow of traffic.
