Why do my stock HID's suck?

Since new, I have never been impressed by the 3 series HID
lights. I have been playing with the manual adjustment but
that only helped a little. The stock HID's don't seem to light
up the road very well. Today I'm even more disappinted
because i rented an 09 Caddy DTS and the headlights are
so bright, clean and crisp. I'm really impressed how well they
light up the road (rest of the car is crap)

What can I do to improve my HID's?
Thank you
Mario

Mess with the adjustments more. They just need to be aimed up. They are in reality very bright. They are in the the optimal temperature range for light output.

What type of suspension are you on?

If you're lowered, the headlights should be aimed a little lower to accommodate the new height.

you can manaully adjust your xenons with the adjuster, or if the color of the ouput is not up to par, you can also change the HID bulb, which is referred to as D1S

Go out to a dark parking lot at night and aim it down the road. You'll find a nice balance of light output and direction.

You may not have that nifty color as some other brands but as the Germans usually do, its about safety.

Thank you, maybe next week

Just a tad lower.

Your stock 4300k bulbs will give you the brightest output btw. 6k will only make it appear less yellowish and there will be some lumen loss.

In a lowered car, you will need to raise the beam.
