Weird sound when turning steering wheel all the way to the right.....

Have you guys experienced this? When I'm at a dead stop, whether it's pulling out of my driveway, or just making a right turn from a dead stop, my wheel on the driver side makes this "gong, gong" sound, like the power steering or AS is not working? It only happens in a specific spot, and after that spot, the turn is fine without that noise......

And when I'm at a dead stop, I crank my wheel quickly to the right/left all the way, I feel like there's a 'dead' spot where my steering feels heavy, like without ANY power steering at all. But like I mentioned above, after that specific spot, the steering feels normal again.

This is only felt on the driver side......

TIA

Generally its not a good idea to turn the wheel fully and turn as it causes stress on the power steering pump..the pump may be making the sound you are referring to.

But the sound is heard before the wheel is turned fully....it's more like half way through the turn, which is more than plenty to do a 'normal' right turn. But ONLY when the car is at a stop though....

Do you mean the bearing in the tie rod? If so, I had the driver side tie-rod replaced about 2 weeks ago......

What other possibilities?

bump?

I'm still getting that sound, but only appears to be on the driver side......This also happens when I'm not on the brakes....

It is really hard to record a sound clip, there are too much noise around the wheel/suspension area as it is close to the engine.....

TIA

I get a violent sound/shake that I can feel through the steering wheel, only half way through the turn.....

Could a bent wheel cause that sound? I've had this sound before I upgraded to PSS10s. So I figure this couldn't be related to the suspension?

Anyone?
