Need a good road to drive on in Triangle, NC area

Anyone in the Triangle area of NC - looking for a fun road to drive in the area to enjoy this car. With little traffic, preferably.

the only thing here I can think of is the road out by PTI airport. Usually empty and a lot of straight aways.

Vicngo: Check out hwy 66 & 89 out near Mt.Olive and Danbury. There are a lot of hills, curves and straightaways. Best time to go is right before spring, before the bikers are out.

JHS3: There is a fun road by the reservoir near Duncan, hwy 42 or something like that. Usually the county roads are the best for fun and minimum traffic but are also the most dangerous.

Roads around Jordan Lake are fun to drive around.

Something I like to do once in a while is go down Guess Rd in Durham towards north Durham where it's the country. Nice and curvy roads.

Depends on whether you're looking for twisties or straights...

For wide sweepers, take a look at Ravens Ridge Rd in north raleigh.

For the twisties, its almost worth it to head up old creedmoore rd and hang a left at the end -- a few up-hill right and left hairpins there with GREAT visibility to see whats coming (if anything).

I've done these in a mustang that pushed, and in a porsche 911 that also pushed... i can't wait to get my 335d on them...

Just don't speed between Carver and Horton. I sit on my porch/deck and watch people get pulled all day. 540 is fun and a long stretch from the airport to Triangle Town Center; just not curvey. But, as always, watch out for the blue light special. (or red)

Exclamation Interesting ride...

Durham - turn onto Mt. Moriah road from 15-501. Take it to Erwin. Turn right. Then turn left on Mt. Sinai. Nice run on Mt. Sinai all the way to hwy 86. Don't get too crazy.

The sheriff hangs out in the church parking lot at the top of the hill and in the cul de sac about 200 yards down the street on the right. There are also lots of bicyclists (me included) on this road.

+3 on the Dragon. I've driven it during three trips and it WAS the best.

However, during one of those trips, I also jumped over to the beginning of the Blue Ridge Parkway and drove it all the way up to Blowing Rock. That was a super fun drive. Much less white-knuckle, and way more "stop for picnics and camera stops. The road is like a 2-lane interstate, heavily landscaped, and traffic was very light. I hit a spot of the BRP that was closed just north of Asheville and had to take a detour around that segment. I stumbled across a section of road from I-40 up to the BRP that was a county road rather than a state, but it was just as twisty curvy, and had the awesome scenery too, well matching the Tale of the Dragon, but without traffic or heavy police presence.
Check out I-40 east of Asheville, at exit 75, go north on Curtis Creek Road till it "Ts" into the BRP. The last 10 miles were incredible driving.
