OBESITY Tax? WTF

Govenor Paterson of New York recently proposed a new tax as part of his 2009 budget for the state. He wants to place a 15% tax on "non-diet drinks."

"This means a Diet Coke might sell for a $1 - even as the same size bottle of its calorie-rich alter ego would go for $1.15."

Although i'm not a resident of New York, this really pisses me off. And how far would they take it? If i go to McDonalds and get a Coke is it gonna be 20 cents more then a diet coke of the same size? In another year is the state going to implement a tax on "high cholesterol" foods like Baconator from Wendys?

Sorry to rant, well not really I think this is bull $hit.

Instead of doing that crap, why not do this:
  • higher tax on sales of new and used SUV's
  • tax free gym membership
  • higher fines and enforcement of parking in fire zones
  • stricter controls and enforcement use of handicapped tags
  • lower tax at diet centers (healthy fruit foods, smootheis, etc)
  • more education at doctor's offices and hostipal about obesity, more ad's too
  • force health insurance to include coverages for weight control and reduction, increase rates if weight increases off the limits to obese.
  • bump up tax at Ben n' Jerry's, Carvel's, and Mc D's foods (not drinks)
  • and last...take away the tv remote

Americans r just fuckin lazy. No extra tax on cheeseburgers at mcdonalds or soda pop is going to change that.. the fatties r stll gonna pony up the $. Theres TONS OF FATTIES OUT THERE, and they comfort one another with fat sex thru craigslist. Just look in the personals for BBW (Bring Burgers With) and you will know where to get some easy fat pussy.

This is totally insane. Ive never seen government control proposed on such a level in the USA.

This country looks and feels like Nazi Germany over the last few years. In my gut I hate to say such a thing, but its really true.

Xenophobia, foreign wars of aggression and now government control over our personal lives and choices. At this point, if the government forced everyone to write their religion on their passports/drivers license the majority of people most likely wouldn't bat an eye. Scary times my friends.
