Helix 82dsp plus Jehnert 3 way speaker kit

Helix 82dsp plus Jehnert 3 way speaker kit
The guy that you buy this from should be able to
set you up with something for the rears if you want
it right away.

That what I would do if I were buying now I have
Morel Dotechs in the doors and Jehnerts in the floors
powered but a Jl 600/6 and had the OEM Hi FI
the 82dsp did not exist when I was puttting this in I left
the rears stock and basicly faded them out .
With the Helix 82dsp you should be able to adjust a lot
of the cheapness out of stock rears though.

To qualify this I am not a bass head I like a system with
a flat response but clean and accurate. And I would say my
system is even a little bass heavy by that standard but not
in the basshead realm .

Hey Ctuna, I have the dreaded base sound system and I'm looking to upgrade. I was considering the BSW or OEM Hifi upgrade. Any suggestions?

FYI

Current most popular solution is
Helix 82dsp with a set of aftermarket speakers (3 way set)from
Jehnert , Gladen or MB Quarrt if you are on a budget.
Get the entire kit from places like Bimmertech, Unexpected Crealions
or MusicarNW. Bimmertech kit comes with a tune and they can
reprogram the output of the Head Unit/idrive to Hi Fi .
since this is a new package I don't know what it costs.

Lower Cost alternative is

amps and speakers may vary but this is the proven solution.

No reason to do an OEM upgrade all of the above is better.

Since you are somewhat close to Unexpected Creations you might want
to see what they can do for you.

If I was doing the Helix 82dsp which is remarked by all of the above
plus Bavsound I would tend to buy it from Bimmertech as I think
the Tech support might be better or if I was looking for a total install
Unexpected Creations.

Thanks so much for your input. I don't feel comfortable doing the install by myself so I would most likely go to unexpected Creations. Also I wouldn't want to spend more than 1000$ which rules out the first solution if I'm not mistaken.

Hello mate. I just installed mb quart 200.3 and nsc475 amp which i think you can get for around $600 dollars and it will sound much better than bsw stage 1 running off the head unit. Have a look

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1255816

Also i think the bav sound costs 279 for tweeters and doors and costs 479 for underseats. Which in my opinin is overpriced as the speakers are still running off the head unit and will jot be as good as a set of cheaper speakers and amplifying them.

If you have somebody install quality stuff expect to

If you have somebody install quality stuff expect to
pay more than 2k . If you are a genius at dumpster diving
and DIY you might be able to come in a little under 1k.
Other wise you risk disaster with people that don't understand
the bmw audio options.

I agree with Lockman_321
He did a good job of keeping the cost down but started with Hi fi I believe.

Agree with this.

In the UK I was quoted £1300 to have the MB Quart 200.3 + Underseat + Amplifier installed. However if you take your time and do it yourself you can get the parts for no more that £400. Also as Ctuna said, many of these installers don't actually understand the BMW system. There is an example thread on here with that exact problem.

If your someone who has a bit of time and doesn't mind researching on these forums I would honestly say that you would be better off purchasing the parts and carrying out a DIY as you will save so much money and potentially have a better system at the end of it.

Also I did start with the base system so it was a complete upgrade for me.

Thanks for the advice. The only problem I have with DIY is that I don't understand car electronics. I wouldn't know what or how to properly connect the speakers to the head unit or amp or how to calibrate everything. Although, I'm good at following instructions. So if I had a proper guide telling me what to do step by step and with what tools, I think I would be fine.

Ctuna, can you help me out too? I have a Logic-7 and want to do a minor upgrade. Definitely not a bass head, just trying to get a little more bump and a cleaner bass sound from my music. You should know, I drive an e93, so options are a bit more limited.

What would you recommend for me? I have been told to use Bavsound underseat subs or use an aftermarket amp to power the stock underseat subs. Which of these would you recommend? if its the amp route, any particular brand you recommend?

thanks!

Jehnerts and and aftermarket amp.

Jehnerts and and aftermarket amp.
You might want to get a three way Jehnert kit and do the front
doors to . this is for soiund quality not a bass head setup but
it still won't be weak in the bass area.
Or Morels for the doors.
Unfortunately the logic 7 setup is not cheap or easy to modify.
and this is a kind of patch.
Talk to 6speed coupe about this setup.
Jl or arc audio make great standalone amps.
