Thanks, what are you driving these days since the C63 went? I remember you were on the hunt for a 530d/535d?

That looks nice (apart from that wood trim!)

Does anyone know how I get full post code search on the nav? Is it a simple usb software update?

Awesome! my father in law has his X5 for sale on Autotrader and he wants an M5 so when you get bored of that, let me know (as long as it doesn't have black leather).

My brother in law had, and sold, his C63 and now he's back in an E92 comp pack M3.

We were at Star City last weekend and there was a huge fire at a recycling plant, not sure if you heard

An update on my thread, I decided it was time to get my car detailed properly as I no longer have the time to keep on top of my car. If I am lucky, she gets a wash every 2 weeks but recently averaging once a month...shocking I know!

I Google'd some places and tried calling around but most places seemed busy or didn't respond. Eventually, I came across JC80 detailing in Cannock/Walsall. I had a chat with John and he was extremely helpful and clearly had knowledge of his work. He uses products like Swissvax Crystal Rock, Swissvax Shield, Gtechniq EXO hybrid and Zymol Royale to name a few.

The price he quoted me was amazing so I didn't want to turn down the opportunity. I booked my car in for Wednesday 2nd March and I will collect this Saturday morning. John has been sending me picture updates as a teaser.

The interior was becoming quite dirty, the wheels needed some more protection and the bodywork itself needed some general upkeep (clean, clay, machine polish, wax protection). Here's what I have so far.

Mats were looking very tired and dirty:

to this...

My wheels had some feint marks and kerbing to them as well as milking to the centres. John has done an awesome job on these (my total detail price is probably half the price of a full diamond cut refurb). Sorry RajB, looks like I will be sticking with these

60/40 of the back of the wheel

Clay bar removed this from the bonnet alone

And who doesn't love polished exhausts...

More update pics to come soon and this thread might become very pic heavy. I simply cannot wait to collect on Saturday.

John is also throwing in some Gtechniq Quick Detailer at no extra charge and he will come out after the job is done to my house for a courtesy clean F.O.C. I love those words, free of charge!

I also have a hire car from Tuesday night (when I dropped off) to Saturday morning. An Insignia which is ridiculously good on fuel.

Check out his website, his Land Rover was wrapped by Yiannimize in satin red

Another shot of how great the wheels have come out. I am really surprised that the milking/corrosion to the centres came out

Brake calipers have also been cleaned and waxed

Was your milking bad around the centre caps? Has he taken them back to the metal?

I wish I had taken some before pics of the wheels, can't seem to find any.

They were quite bad in my opinion, not light milking (spider web effect) but more like corrosion around the centre.

If you google image search "19 313 alloy corrosion", the 5th wheel across from the top is similar to how bad they were.

As far as I know, he has a small toothbrush type sander which is very light. He applied some wax with it which has worked wonders.

I thought the corrosion usually happened under the clear coat? I am interested to hear what he did to get rid of the milking

Also looking forward to more pics!!

I was hoping to get some pics up by now but my car had a bit of an oil leak so as soon as I picked it up, it went straight to BMW. Looks like it's the oil filter gasket and o-ring. Relatively simple to change and parts are only £20. Thankfully it won't cost me an arm and a leg to fix. Will most probably be weekend now before I get some decent pics up. I was very pleased with the detail.

So, I'm not going to pretend these photos are any good...in fact they are quite shocking. I am far from mastering the manual settings on my Samsung Galaxy camera but these will have to suffice for now. When John pops over to see me (next week most likely) for a courtesy clean, I hope to capture some sunshine and take better pics. John is also providing me with a USB with pics taken from a proper SLR camera.

I regret not having the single stage machine polish done (it was my fault for assuming this was going to be involved in the package, I knew it sounded too cheap) so perhaps this is something I can tackle in the summer. There are some light swirl marks in my paint but the majority have been cleared up. It's mostly stone chips and deeper marks that show up.

My 313's will also require a refurb to get them glistening but they will suffice for now. There is still some corrosion around the centre but a lot of it was taken out with just wax. Can't remember the name of the wax used but it was left to set for 3 hours before being removed.

I also love the Swissvax crystal, the car practically cleaned itself on the drive home yesterday.

Look who I bumped into over the weekend, MAN15H!

The car was needed for 3 days but I dropped it off on a Tuesday, got my courtesy car, and collected my car on Saturday.

Thanks, I think a single stage machine polish in the summer will finish it off nicely. We need a catch up man, been so busy lately. Yesterday I was at work 7:25am - 10pm, hectic!

Looking very fresh after the full detail!

Did you decide against the carbon splitters in the end mate?
