Yeah if you put them right there it will sound pretty good. Some people think they can just slap them on right after the downpipes and I wanted to make sure you weren't planning on doing that haha, it would sound like poo poo.

Ah, you're a 5-spoke kind of guy. There are plenty of great replacements if you don't like the M3 rims. I say get the one that is already supercharged, you won't regret it. You have no idea what you're missing with the M3, compared to the 335is. Once you have driven an M car for a while, I doubt you would ever look back.

The 0-60 times are the same for the 335is and the M3. Most power for M3 is at 8000rpm. Who the hell revs their engine to 8000rpm? My 335is always stays below 6500 rpm

You have to drive the M3 different than the 335is. I rev to 8000 rpm simply because I can, and the music made while getting there is intoxicating!

If you're used to what I call "diesel driving" (just enjoying the low end of the power band) then you might really want to test drive an M3 before you pull the trigger. Chassis dynamics and the engine do make it all worthwhile. But if you just want "stump-pulling" power down low then a tuned 335 or even a C63 AMG might be more up your alley!

What Stu said. But, that is the point of that car, in my opinion. It is the last of the great naturally aspirated engines. Another of that sort will likely never be produced again. If that doesn't mean anything to you, you will be better off with another car and engine. Of course a SC'd M3 will solve your concerns. And the noise of the NA or SC variants with an aftermarket exhaust is enough to sway many.

The C63 suggestion is a great one. MB is impressive of late. You want a DCT/automated manual and torque. That has it. Torque in spades. And, if you want a different body, that engine is available in MANY different body styles. And, you can smoke many of the boys running around this thread...

I vote C63 coupe for you.

My biggest concern with buying a car from someone else without a warranty, espeically with one that is stock FI or aftermarket FI, is I don't know the person that had it before me and I don't know what kind of care they took of the vehicle. Just saying...some people beat to hell the car and right before it breaks they sale it.

The C63 actually isn't THAT fast. My vote definitely still goes for the M3. I mean, the C63 doesn't even come with an LSD, it only comes with the P31 package that many don't have. Its also a bit of a porker, weighing in at 3990 lbs. I guess you could call her a bit of a plus sized model. Sure, he's used to some low end grunt, but he will learn to love revving a car out.

^Out of the box, it is faster and much more torque. Just things I think suit Mike more, because of his past choices (no mods).

That is the point of maintenance records and a PPI. Clears up the worry.

Thanks everyone for input. I really like the 335is and thought if I keep it and add the Tune, DCI, DP, and FMIC I would be in the sweet spot for my type of driving...beating you when the light turns green...0-60 time is the only stat I care about. ( more or less you get what I mean). Where can I test drive a M3 with DCT and ZCP without going to Cali or Fl? What a fun problem to have...

You really need to test drive an M3, and if you're still asking yourself, "who revs their engine to 8k rpm?" and care about stoplight, 0 to 60 times, then it's certainly not the car for you. Sounds like you love your car, so why not just tune it and keep it?
