Ah, you are right, I just checked and my DVD doesn't have them but works fine without them. You can probably use another SF file and adjust whatever is needed to match or get the SF files from the 2013 red light DVD.
I'll have to play around and see what those SF files are used for.

I've tried everything But the no sf files option and I've only wasted a bunch of DVDs so far. I've done this a couple of times in the past and it has always worked like a charm, but this years Region 2 (West) DVD has not been a good experience.

Will try the no SF filed option later this week. Hopefully, it will work.

From what I can tell the DVD should work just fine with faulty or no SF/ST files. Those seem to be used for searching POIs but are not part of navigation.
So if your DVDs don't work the problem is probably somewhere else - maybe the way you burn them or if you re-create the ISO what options you are using when you do that.

My DVD works fine for the maps or address search. However, when I try the POI search, it won't even display the categories.

It has nothing to do with the way I burn it because the original 2014 DVD without the cams or speed traps works flawlessly including POI search.

If the category screen doesn't show I would guess thet the ENG.LSC file is corrupted or has something with invalid format in it. I would check that the line endings are correct (windows vs unix) and also tabs vs spaces for the lines you've added. Also check and make sure the IDX and URL files are not already used by another category, I guess it's possible the west coast DVD has more categories thatn the east coast for some reason.

Note that when you change the LSC file, you can't just copy the last two lines of the template LSC file - the last two lines refer to 219,220 and 221,222 for 10008 and 10009 respectively. Change those to 221,222 and 223, 224 which corresponds to the url and idx files.

For peace of mind, you should also create the SF files - just take a look at any SF file, and change the number and category name. That's all there is to it.

EDIT: added the folder ENG - just merge the folder from the dvd with this one. Get the additional files from the ICONS folder and TABLES folder from the OPs zip files. No editing needed, just burn and feed it to your car!

ok so can someone explain to me how to do this? step by step, i opened the text file to get the torrent link and it was all scrambled in characters. im also reading people are having issues with some file? im not sure if thats only for west or for both west and east. ill only be using east. thanks


And i tried removing .txt with no luck either. Please!!!!! Someone help!!!

There is no link, this is the torrent file itself. Rename 2014_CCC_EAST.torrent.txt to 2014_CCC_EAST.torrent and open the file with your torrent client. You do need a torrent client installed.

only 2 seeds? you would think people would be jumping on this, so how do the red lights work? is it just a symbol on the screen? or will it alert us? that would be cool if it alerted you.

Just a symbol. The CCC is just too old to do anything fancy. I don't think the CIC even does warnings which is very sad but until they adopt Android we won't get anything decent.

Most people grab a copy and leave, I seed all the time so you should have a good download speed depending on your ISP.

You have to search for information on the current location and then select the red light or police traps category. Whatever you searched for last shows up on your screen. And no, you can't have more than one thing show at a time.

Do you have updated POI for 2015? I've used your and dylim's old files to update 2015 maps.
