Not too bad, just have to be cautious.

Most people want to "fit in", so they will do what everybody else is doing. It takes self-confidence and a creative mind to step outside the box and be different w/o being cocky and gaudy. I believe there are limits and lines not to cross when customizing, but those limits/lines are only what one believes in and will never be pleasing in everyone's eyes.
With that said, I think your car is clean, not over the top. You took a bold step with the choice in color - especially w/the interior - but I've seen WAY worse and at least it flows. Again, you will NEVER please everyone and if everyone had the same taste, the automotive scene would be terribly boring. If I took to heart the negative comments people have said about my past/current mods, I might as well have just gotten a Prius (no offense, I'm sure those can be modded too) and called it a day. Keep doing what you do and keep us posted on your next project......although I still don't understand the camber/stretch look. It's all good 'cuz it's not for me to understand.

i love what you did with the interior, and i liked the copper wheels... what i didnt like was the lows and the stretch. In a few shots, it looked like if you hit the slightest bump at speed, you'd crash the rim of the wheel straight into the wheel arch.
I dont like cars that sit impractically low, and tyres that look ill-fitting. But i will give you your due on the talent and skill required to get it looking the way it has. very good work indeed. |

I have different priorities than probably 99% of the people on here, and I don't expect a lot of people to understand it. The only people that understand are the other people that have the same priorities as me. With that being said I respect the comments that ask why, but I don't respect people coming in my thread and being jackasses. If you think it looks "ugly", you "hate" it, or have bad things to say about my car then you are a being rude. Being rude is lame as fuck. If you don't like it move on and go find something you like. No one is forcing anyone to look at this thread. End rant. Back on topic!

I got it from a local textile store. I'm sure that you could find it online somewhere, just make sure that before you order it you can talk to someone and make sure that it has a stretch to it. That is absolutely key.

Back on topic........(I think)...
Did you have to use hubcentric rings? If so, do you remember what size? I just put one of my husband's 19in wheels on my car today and everything seemed to fit well, but couldn't tell if I was going to need the rings. I know I did when I went aftermarket w/my Audi.

I thoroughly enjoyed this thread - you did some really creative stuff to your car.
Some I liked and were my taste, others not so much - but I still enjoyed the whole thread. As grlpwr said, you're not going to please everyone - we all have different tastes I recently purchased an '07 328i and have been lurking here since beginning of July - I have completed a few mods and will have pics up soon - hopefully tonight Mine won't be nearly as in depth as this - but it continues to be a work in progress Love my car so far -- except the ugly halogen lights grrrrrrrrr Shame on BMW for having these lights - but oh well - I will fix them eventually |
