SCREW (in) MY RFT!!!

Today I got a screw embedded in my right front 19" RFT tire. Luckiliy it didn't go all the way through. I pulled it out and drove around for awhile and the tire pressure is holding steady at 36PSI (actually it went up to 37PSI because of the warm tires). I'm going to have to take my tire off and see how deep it is. It's kinda close to the sidewall but not right beside it.

Question: What should I do? Bring it into BMW and get them to drill it all the way through and patch it? Not sure if they can do that.

BTW: I do not have tire insurance. I was planning on getting rid of these RFTs eventually and running non-RFTs.

If you decide to bring it to BMW, they will most likely tell you to replace it with a brand new RFT, which might cost an arm and a leg. If the tire isn't leaking then I don't see a reason why you should change it. Just keep an eye on it here and there.

I'm just thinking that it will affect the integrity of the tire and it may burst somehow.

I got a screw on my RFTs and I went to the local goodyear shop and got it patched. it was not center, just slightly off, but they were able to patch it. I took my oem rims off but the tires is good as new. They also told me if the patch came off to bring it back and they will replace it for no charge. They are the only shop that would work on my rfts no other shop wanted to work on them...

BMW will not repair this tire, no way. The will try and get you to pay 400 bucks for a tire that you can get elsewhere for less than 300. If you want it repaired do it yourself or find a good tire shop that is willing to work on RFT. Many will not. One of my many gripes with RFT.
