Is there an adaptive headlight reset/re-calibration?

Hey guys. Picked up a premium Bronze Metallic 335i E90 yesterday and last night I noticed that my driver side headlight is WAY higher and out of alignment than my passenger side. They both still do their calibration on start up but the driver side is always much higher. This picture is taken with the lights about 4 ft from the garage door. In the open the driver side is lighting up the tree tops along the road.

I looked for an adjustment knob but I couldn't find any. Is this something I have to go to the dealer for?

Thanks!
-Justin

I want to bump this thread, because when I adjust using the adjusting bolts the headlights just return tot he down position after driving for a bit. Is there a recalibration through the computer that needs to be done?

it may have popped off the leveler or yours may be shot now. are you sure you adjusted the correct knob?

Ya I was able to watch the headlights move and got them aligned correctly. Then after a short drive they got pointed down again.

Is there a recalinration or telling them there is a new "zero" or home position?

Do you have a fault light in the dash? I do and replaced both adaptive controlers but still have the light. Trying to determine how to reset it.

My driver side adaptive headlight sits way lower than my passenger side and I get a left cornering light malfunction error. the outer halo ring of my passenger side headlight is out also. Where is the headlight rod you described located ?

bringing this back from the dead. during installation of my lowering springs I damaged my headlight sensor on the front control arm. oh well :/ Here's the thing though, after riding in my roommates new Focus ST, I realized his projector light cutoffs are clean and cut at all distances. Mine are clean and level when parked in front of say a garage door but not very well on the streets. especially the super dark elevation changes and curves here in the mountains. It seems the 'hole' in the lighting is in the worst spot possible too, dead center of my lane! I take it this is not normal light cut off for properly aimed headlights? I don't wanna pay the dealer 125 just to look at them

in my steep driveway

on the road. It becomes worse going up an incline.

thanks,
Justin
