Stett Chargepipe blowing off - question.
Hey guys, I got a used Stet CP and noticed this on the intake side. Is this broken up gasket the O-Ring everyone talks about?
Is this a replaceable part? I installed the CP as tight as I could and it blew off before I even made it down the street... *sigh*. not looking forward to going back in there. The stock airbox is such a pain in the ass when working with chargepipes. Sexy flipflops added for pizzaz Last edited by dbworld4k; 12-16-2014 at 01:56 AM.. |

Just a Silicone Coupling. Did you try calling Stett to see if they had replacement parts? I have never had an issue with mine blowing off but it's on there super tight!

That's just a coupler and it looks beat up. Try to get a replacement and in the mean time when you install it make sure you tighten it good. It also looks like the pipe is out of round and bent in the picture.
I'd tell you to just buy a quality pipe like ER but I know that's probably not what you want to hear. |

I put it on as tight as I could and it blew off... I've emailed Stett and called numerous times and no one pics up. This sucks, I'm barely able to drive my car to work at this rate.
Does any vendor sell the replacement coupler by any chance??? |

It's a generic coupler. Just measure it and do a search online for it. |

Standard couplers will probably low off too. I liked the Stett one because of the little lip ring in there designed to prevent blow offs but clearly it's of no use in this state.

In all seriousness though, it should be a generic coupler. Any specialized auto parts store should have one. Hell, maybe even autozone might have one. Just measure ID and length. Also, if you can dish out the extra cash VRSF sells a chargepipe with an OEM connector for fairly cheap. Just something to think about.

I managed to source another coupler from Stett. The lip they have should do the trick if installed properly, too bad the one on the kit I bought on this forum was too damaged to work.
Hopefully it holds once the replacement arrives, lol. |

We generally recommend aftermarket charge pipes that retain the OEM c-clip connection on the throttle body in order to avoid this exact problem. We've sold both options in the past and we now only sell the OEM option.
