I've read all 28 pages and NO answers have been given regarding the part #'s or a way to get them in the US or a date when we can expect to be allowed to buy these parts. Someone in europe really needs to start up a business selling these parts to the thousands of us idiotic americans who can't stand to wait for BMW to sell them to us!

My capitalist mind sees a great opportunity here.

We got our E92 Mtech kit form MWDesign. Its Black Sapphire....looks great! To date...I do not know of anyone else being able to get this kit to us here stateside.

We put the front piece on this E90 conversion...the sides and rear will go on an true E92, but sorry, no pics of that yet.

The Mtech is way more expensive than the aero lip (which looks better, IMO) but it is more exlclusive and not everyone will have it. The only thing this kit has sold me on is 19" rims!

This is the best setup I've seen (using all OEM parts):
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=376

P.S. Does anyone know if there is a quick odo/speedo fix for putting larger wheels on the e92? I know, I could do a search, but since this Mtech topic includes the possibility of upgrading to 19's it might be relavent for everyone to know.

You don't need to change the speedo. Just get tires with a lower profile sidewall such that the rolling surface of the tire is not changed vs. the 18" stock wheel/tire setup.

which one is more exclusive in your opinion??

i think the m tech bumpers will be more common, because sooner or later the US will get the m package available from the dealer, and everyone will get it!

Of course the Mtech is more expensive...its an entire bumper with meshwork, wheel well liners, and new OEM foglights vs just a lip add on with betalink.

They are both awesome, its just a matter of which you like personally. You can't go wrong with either. Right now, the mtech is more difficult to get b/c US dealers are not selling it yet. Thus, most members here are getting the Aero lip. I think you are correct...that with time, once the Mtech is more readily available in both a full kit and individual parts...many people will start to go with it just as often as the Aero lip.

People here are just used to seeing the Aero lip, and thus like it more. Once you get used to seeing the Mtech front...it will remove the "awkward" sense of something different...and people will like it, just like most OEM parts. They grow on you. Get the one you like...that falls within your budget.

The Aero Lip is $300+ and is readily available.

The Mtech is $2000+ and is harder to come by, thus it is more "exclusive" right now. Yes, it will be more popular as the supply increases and prices drop, but you'll never get this same setup from a dealer in the states. Case in point: no precut holes for orange reflectors - a required item thanks to the DOT. All the extra parts make it expensive but at the same time it makes it look more complete (not like you just glued on a lip).

In any event, $1700 could buy some other nice parts!

Regarding the tire info, I did some research:

When I saw the pictures on this thread of the 225M rims, I thought the tire was actually bigger because it looks like it fits up in the wheel-well better (must be the suspension?)

Stock 18" Front Tire (Style 189) - 225/40R18:
Overall diameter = 25.08 in
Revs/Mile = 829.3

Stock 18" Rear Tire (Style189) - 255/35R18
Overall diameter = 25.02 in
Revs/Mile = 831.3

Upgraded 19" Front Tire (Style 199 or 225M) - 225/35R19
Overall diameter = 25.20 in in
Revs/Mile = 825.3

Upgraded 19" Rear Tire (Style 199 or 225M) - 255/30R19
Overall diameter = 25.02 in
Revs/Mile = 831.3

I used the following calculator to get these values: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

If the speedo/odo sensor is on the rear wheel, there should be no difference in the reading, but if the sensor is on the front wheel, it will read about 0.3mph too slow (negligible).

I think I prefer the Style 199's over the 225M, because ihe 225M has the ///M logo on it. If you have the Mtech package the 225M's make since. Anybody know of any posts that show the 199's installed? Any body know the offsets of these three wheels?

Even if it were on the front wheel there are other factors that will effect rolling diameter as much or more such as differences in tire inflation pressure and differnces in rolling patch shape due to different compounds used in tire and/or tread pattern.

Very few cars sold today have different speedometer calibrations for different sized wheels. Most just keep the rolling diameter the same for all available stock wheel sizes.

My buddy had a 2002 Monte Carlo and some $400.00 computer device he plugged into it that adjusted settings for overall diameter and other variables (reset check engine light, etc.) You could run into a problem if you put 20"+ rims on an automatic car because the software that tells the tranny to switch gears at certain speeds, would do this incorrectly.

I would think this technologically advanced car would have some type of calibration device.

Yeah, I am curious to see what the dealers end up doing once its available in the US. I have the kit from MWDesign, and there was NO precut holes...but it DID have a cutout guide on the inside of the bumper that you could use to make the holes if you desired. When I saw that...it made me think that US dealers might actually get the same kit. And it will be up the the buyer to get the piece cut out and replace it with a new reflector once they send it for paint.

I dunno...I think US kits will be avail very soon...so we will see for sure then. Just would be very nice for US owners to be able to get it without the holes.

Why are the reflectors an issue? Isnt everyone using painted covers anyway?

Yes those are a must!!!

But I do not have to use anything. I have no cutout to deal with. Some people just don't like the random [ ] box lines on the fender even if the reflectors match in color. They would prefer to have smooth lines.

as you can see, not really a big deal...you would never want to buy a whole new bumper just to get rid of these cutouts, but its a nice plus if you are already going to change the look of your car to a different kit.
