I don't Think stage 1 has the catless DP. So it wouldn't need the spacers.

Correct, I'm using the stock downpipe, so no spacers. I know there is another thread floating around regarding those mini cat spacers, curious how it plays out. Not being able to pass emissions is the only thing holding me back. It seems only the maps specifically for cars with catless downpipes prevents OBDII readiness.

omit the first character from your search. So just search 2fa8, you should check your spark plugs and/or coils. Cobb has a nice video on trouble shooting this...

Enter your VIN here:
http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html
it will give you the production date, if it is an early production date, and the ECU has not been updated you might have one of the two not supported versions, requiring you to have the ECU updated by your dealer before installing COBB. Mine left the factory 6/2010 and had one of the not supported versions.

EDIT: it should have been manufactured before 3/2012 included, AFAIK.

I bought a 2011 335i M-Sport AT earlier this year with 20K miles production date 25.08.2010 and I had one of the two "unsupported" DME versions and my AP3 would not install. I also have the Bluetooth audio streaming problem (search Viseeo WMA1000, works great). I was freaking out but I did a few searches here and read up on the process and it was not bad at all. I printed the relevant TSB and convinced my dealer to update my on-board DME code under warranty with the latest version. The Cobb installed flawlessly after that. It's annoying to have the shiny new AP3 and no way to use it but it is not too bad and VERY VERY VERY V-E-R-Y worth the trouble. I use the Aggressive map with the 93 octane gas that's all over Northern Virginia and that map is like night and day. No maybe about it. Your butt-dyno will crap itself. The car is so-o-o much stronger with the AP3. Mine is basically stock, I just have a K&N drop in filter. No FBO yet. Best part is, the easy/smooth drive-ability of the stock car is totally unchanged. Your MPG even stays the same. The ZF automatic is OK but it will smoke 1st with the Cobb and I can even get it to smoke 2nd in Manual/Sport by shifting it a little early.

Mega have you tried the alpina b3 transmission flash? It works very well with the tune since it makes the car shift aggressively.

I have read a LOT about it here and I have been DYING to try it but I am not that good at coding. The 6AT slush-box is really the weakest part of the car and I can't leave it in Sport auto so I end up in Manual mode 95% of the time. I don't mind traditional torque converter based ATs when they're software is good but this one is a world apart from my last DSG when it comes to crispness, timing and gear selection. From what I've read the Alpina B3 software solves all of that PLUS adds rev matching down shifts (?) AND you get the gear numbers displayed. I have a coding cable and a Win7 laptop but I have never been brave enough to try it. I've wanted badly to add the digital speedo and rain sensor sun roof codes. I'd pay someone to do it for me but I don't know of anyone in Northern Virginia who does it. I'm pretty good at wrenching but the fallout of coding mistakes scares me. How complicated is it really?
