Dude, remove the tune before taking the car to the dealer. Simple as that.
That way you have nothing to worry about. You knew what you were getting into when you bought the tune...

I'd just leave 'er in there; I can't imagine they'd go through the trouble. Also, it's probably easier to just change the oil then to remove and then reinstall the tune.

Donald - check this thread out. Somebody had the same question, and 2 different BMW techs chimed in. I would listen to them over anybody else.

IMHO 30 mins of time is would be worth keeping my warranty intact.

Removing the JB3 from your car before service would probably be just as smart as adding punctuation to your posts.

But seriously, don't take the risk unless you personally know the service people and know for a fact that your dealership is mod-friendly. Just short of that, I really wouldn't risk it.

Don't get me wrong....I would agree, but my opinion wavered a bit after reading what the techs had to say.

I really dont think thats a good idea. The more you take it out and put it in the more experience you have. After a few times its real quick. dont risk it. my 2 cents.

not worth risking your warranty for half an hour of your time.... rip it out before you go in for anything
