5x120 to 4x114.3 conversion questions/recommendations

So my friend is selling his brand new Work XD9s, and i think it would look good on my e90. They are Honda fitment, so I am wondering how I can get them on my car. Anyone ever run a wheel adapter? Is it safe?

Heres the setup, 4x114.3, +45 offset, Falken Ziex ZE912 225/40/18, aside from an adapter, would i need spacers? can you even run spacers on adapters? Think the tires are too skinny? i prefer 275s in the rear m'self... Let me know what you think, recommendations welcome.

225 in the rear?

unless this is a winter setup, that sounds like the epitome of form over function.

and to be honest, it probably would look goofy from behind.

Unfortunately 275's are too wide for an 8" wheel.

If you run a 20mm adapter, your offset will virtually be a 8.0 +25 which will be pushed out 4mm more then the general 8.5 +35 most E9x members run here. With that being said, I wouldn't run anything wider then a 225 tire or you'll have some rubbing issues up front. The rears on the other hand, will be a bit sunken.

All in all, it might be a better idea to look into wheels that offer a proper bolt pattern and offset so that you do not have to purchase aftermarket hardware.
