Stop me scratching my car

Hi,

My car is absolutely filthy....coated in dust and whatnot..... The dealer is doing a full valet on it soon....

The thing is that I don't want the car scratched...is there someway to remove all the gunk without scratching the paintwork...???

Thank you

umm... wash your car correctly.

If you don't want scratches, I'd suggest not letting the dealer touch it.

just like soaking dishes in warm water before washing.....make sure you spray your car with plenty of water...(buckets of warm soapy water works best)....keep the car wet for awhile....use a hose to rinse off majority of dirt....wash...gently rub in swirl remover and buff (i used 3m for dark cars)....than...use wax and buff again.....

i have a black car...and i did this on sunday...wow...only if i had a camera...it was like looking into a mirror....

Whenever I take my car to the dealer they offer to wash it. They always look puzzled when I say "Do not wash my car!".

I told the dealer to put a note in my file about not washing my car. They screwed it up once at delivery already.

If you don't want the dealer to wash it, wash it yourself before you bring it in. When I had my Audi, the SA would tell me that my car was cleaner than the new cars they have in the showroom. They didn't want to touch it

Thanks for all the great advice guys!!

The dealer in the UK actually has a professional valet teaam who come in to clean the cars every day. They are an external company and widely regarded as very good. I think this is a different case at some UK dealers and from what I hear in the US you guys have automated car washes...

Anyway, I think I will give the car a good clean before I hand it in as you have all advised...just in case!!

Thanks again!!
