Hopefully that flinch and hand placement kept some of the windshield fragments away from is eyes. So how do you react when you hit a deer?!?

I think he was talking about how his hand is on the steering wheel before the collision.

Sure, hopefully putting his hands up helped keep the glass out of his face, but if his airbag went off, he would have wished he kept his arms down. I do give him props for keeping control of the car after the impact.

That's exactly what I meant. Thank you. Hand placement is the first thing you learn when starting racing...

Also, this video is a great example of why keeping the visor closed is smart. (not saying this is a common accident...but visor=good)

That deer was full out sprinting toward the track. Not a damn thing the driver could have done about it. Glad no one was hurt.

Dang. That's just honestly bad luck. You'd expect that when running through the canyons or mountains, not the track. Props to keeping the car straight and under control.
